Amazon's one-day SanDisk and WD storage sale has begun

Best-ever prices on Micro SD cards, SSDs, external hard drives and more.

Amazon.com is running one of their one-day flash sales, and this time it's all about storage with historical low prices on drives, memory cards and more from SanDisk, WD and G-Technology. Whether you're upgrading your smartphone with a bigger Micro SD card, giving your gaming PC a new SSD or picking up an external HDD to back up your files, you should be able to find exactly what you're looking for at a pretty substantial discount.

Some of the highlights include a massive 400GB SanDisk Micro SD card which has been knocked down to an all-time low price of $100, which we reckon is the ultimate Micro SD card upgrade for the Nintendo Switch. There's also a more affordable 256GB card at $52 and a still massive 200GB card at just $35. Micro SD cards are brilliant for adding more storage to drones, action cameras, smartphones and more, and you can even pick up an SD adapter to use them in larger or older devices as well. Full-size SD cards have also been discounted, with a super-fast 256GB SanDisk Extreme Pro card at $89 rated at the UHS Speed Class 3 and V30 standards.

The deals also include a selection of flash drives, many of which will work with mobile devices like iPhones or Android phones as well as standard computers, thanks to the inclusion of USB-C or Lightning alongside the usual full-size USB. Pick up the $45 128GB SanDisk iXpand for iPhones and iPads, the $27 128GB SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive for USB-C Android phones or the $45 256GB Ultra Flair for standard PCs.

There's only a single SSD included in the deals, but it's a good one - the budget-focused SanDisk SSD Plus, which delivers a whopping 1TB of storage for just 140 bucks with read speeds up to 535MB/s and write speeds up to 450 MB/s. We covered the substantial game load time benefits to switching from a mechanical HDD to an SSD, so this could be a cheap killer upgrade for your gaming PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

There's also a massive array of USB 3.0, USB 3.1 and USB-C hard drives of varying sizes and prices. The WD My Passport is one to look out for, as it combines fast SSD speeds with a roomy 2TB of storage and excellent portability for $350, half off RRP. If that's too pricey, smaller 512GB and 1TB models are also available, and all three drives should be ideal for adding fast storage to a laptop for editing video on the road, copying files from computer to computer or making sure your most important games or apps launch super fast. Of course, for backing up you might prefer slower but far bigger drives, such as the 8TB G-Technology drive for $205. That should keep you going for a while!

There are a few dozen deals in total, so check out Amazon's deal page to see the entire selection. Of course, it's worth keeping in mind that the deals are only available on Amazon's US site - sorry, Europeans - for today only.
