Aliens Infestation outed by ratings board

Wayforward platformer back from the dead?

It seems another Alien game is incoming, with Aliens Infestation showing up in an Australian game classification listing today.

As spotted on NeoGAF, the notice states the multiplatform title is developed by side-scrolling specialists Wayforward Technologies (A Boy & His Blob, Contra 4) and published by SEGA.

That's all the information that's out there right now but speculation is pointing towards a resuscitated version of a DS Aliens: Colonial Marines spin-off thought to have been cancelled back in 2009.

Inquisitive emails have been fired off to Wayforward and SEGA in search of more information. Keep your eyes peeled for an update.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is still thought to be in development for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at Gearbox Software, while Total War studio The Creative Assembly recently announced it is working on a new game involving the acid-spitting extraterrestrials.
