Boat missed.

We have to start working with deadlines properly and be prepared to prioritise.
No shit.

A true zombie of a game

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Now this one must be some sort of out of season April fools joke, surely?

Low-scoring comment hidden.

@SaitenMar Some MMO's have shorter dev and lifespans combined...

Low-scoring comment hidden.

You were slightly optimistic with that 12 months.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Wait, it's only just hit beta? Some MMO's have shorter development times.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

The hype-train is now a ghost train.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

So did this pile of garbage finally fix zombies and dogs running straight through walls which was still going on four years after it was released as a 30$ game? Wait, actually I don’t care about the answer to that question.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

This game will pull itself out of the grave Bohemia dug for it when they release the modding tools. The process which DayZ was stolen from its user base and then melded into something unrecognizable will be a case study of what not to do in early access development.

I have said this time and time again, players created DayZ and the success of the mod, bohemia took that away from us with their garbage feature implementations and the players will have to recreate what bohemia ruined.

We basically paid for their ARMA 4 engine to be developed inhouse. They don't care about DayZ, never have.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

I can't wait for my great, great, great grandchildren to play it and Star Citizen

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Will it be the same 1.0 as PUBG? Ugly, low-performing, buggy and unfinished? It's like as if these games were originate from the same source.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

@-Kingly- nice.

"The income has started to drop off."
"Say it is in BETA, that will get us back in the news."
Tap tappity tap, upload "Sorted."

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Amazing that after 5 years, SA still has less content than the Mod.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Has it really?

They've taken almost as much time as it took to build the Forth Rail Bridge just to get it to Beta? 😂😂😂

Lazy, feckless, chancing bastards. Get back to work FFS!

Where's Rockstar when you need em?

Low-scoring comment hidden.

I don't miss the love-in for Dean Hall.

Also, that studio tour video is pretty cringey.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Been hanging round for DayZ

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Games staying in 'Early Access' for years is a joke. Just a way to make money while having excuses for everything that is wrong with the product

Low-scoring comment hidden.

@MadJack1812 So like... they started working as a proper developer?

Low-scoring comment hidden.

A game based on an ARMA mod which has been in development since forever...

I predict silky smooth frame rates and no glitches whatsoever.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

Never heard of it

Low-scoring comment hidden.

@blipptybloop to be fair Arma and DayZ will have benefited, the Arma2 DayZ mod had so many problems because of the platform it was built on it ran out of road. Where I think BIS did mess up is not doing their home work before Mr. Hall started selling a vision rather than a game.

If DayZ ends up being the best open survival/shooter then the price was worth it.

Hey BOHEMIA! Please Re-Release previous versions of DayZ... the people want it! - By J. Veits, Writer/Gamer/C.O.D. Consultant

I can only hope that by a miracle's chance, one of the developers of DayZ reads this particular post and that it opens up the communication door between the "classic DayZ" purchasers/players and the developers of the latest release of a game they're still calling "DayZ", but it's not the same game we all know, and yeah, some of us kinda' liked .62 MUCH BETTER.

Bad Decisions by Bohemia Design: The "Sprint Meter"
This "sprint meter" may add a bit of realism to the game . . . but at what cost!? ALL serious players who I've met at conventions and even at local DayZ events believe that the "sprint meter" adds realism at the cost of the players ultimate enjoyment. We've been playing DayZ for what, FIVE years now, and NOW they decide to slow down the survivor by adding the aforementioned "sprint meter". Hey, Devs, we know you probably got screwed in this deal as bad as all the customers, but let's stop the screwing of each other and accept the fact that on the HUGE DAYZ MAP, it is agonizingly long and boring to cross. Let's stick to the old tried and true 5-year version of DayZ and DESTROY that damn "sprint meter". Trying to get around in .63 is so frustrating and infuriating. Did I mention the idea of a sprint meter is completely non-DayZ spirited.

Five years. FIVE years guys.

What the HE** is wrong with the "survivor"? Does he have a metabolic disorder?
There is something severely wrong with the METABOLISM of "the Survivor" in .63, and any half-brained gamer should be ANGERED by it. WHY DOES THE "SURVIVOR" NEED TO BE HYDRATED AND FED CONSTANTLY. I am a hiker, climber, and general outdoorsman in REAL life. I run my ass off and all I carry is two bottles of water and three protein bars. YEP. For some reason, the "SURVIVOR" is literally dead if he isn't nourished exponentially more often than any real human. IT IS ABSOLUTELY MADDENING spending SO much time finding food and water for your "survivor", who's just gonna end up dead in a few hours due to some issue or combination of issues involving bandit players or just a plain lack of food and water.

LISTEN TO COMMON SENSE, PLEASE DEVS: A large number of people want Bohemia to release a self-contained version of DAYZ .62 (or please just release the .62 server files and a client interface). THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF INSANELY LOYAL FANS that just want to play .62, permanently own .62, and have the ability to keep DAYZ .62. Sorry, .63 just isn't what the classic DayZ fan base was looking for. You would literally SAVE YOUR REPUTATION by doing this, given that very little fan feedback has been used to develop .63 (very sad). At least let your PRE-PAID CUSTOMERS have a version of DayZ that is fun and playable... a VERSION THAT'S NOT .63. Are you a decent enough company to do something this simple for the FANS WHO GAVE BOHEMIA HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR EARLY ACCESS!!?? I don't entirely understand the business deal between Dean "Rocket" Hall and Bohemia which allowed him to walk off with a decent chunk of CAPITAL which SHOULD have been used DIRECTLY TO PAY FOR DEVELOPMENT TEAMS, but I imagine "Rocket" screwed the entire development team. For that I feel bad for the Devs. They are most likely made to listen to supervisors who conjure up terrible ideas that end up being implemented in .63.

PLEASE. RELEASE SOME FORM OF .62 for the people who have played THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of hours worth of DayZ .60 - .62.

I erased DayZ from my Steam library because .62 was THE LAST REAL DAYZ. PLEASE, quit making deadlines that can't be reached, simply to create another UNFINISHED version of DayZ. PLEASE, DON'T EVER MAKE ANOTHER REVISION UNTIL IT IS RUNNING BETTER THAN CALL OF DUTY AND INCLUDES EVERY SINGLE FEATURE EVER PROMISED TO THE DAYZ COMMUNITY. BE DECENT HUMANS. That just wreaks of desperation and a clear inability to deliver. When progress is slow, simply speed up your naming conventions, right DayZ? It's clear that some shady business practices went down as millions of copies of Early Access DayZ were being sold, but the cash cow may be coming to an end, soon.

PLEASE - RELEASE .62 AGAIN in a playable format, either using the server/client model, or perhaps a standalone version of .62.

Disappointed, but somewhat empathetic DayZ Veteran,

Justin V 4000+ HOURS PLAYED ON DAYZ .60 - .62

IF BY AN ACT OF GOD, A MEMBER OF BOHEMIA READS THIS AND ACTUALLY DECIDES TO TAKE THE SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME IT WOULD TAKE TO RE-RELEASE .62 AS AN OPTION, IT WOULD BENEFIT BOHEMIA MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE. What do I know, you don't even know who I am. Just do the right thing.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

@Bandito_Guy So when they said, quite literally, that they were hard at work fixing the older versions of DayZ, they were just outright lying? I tend to believe that, but I want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding your point.

Low-scoring comment hidden.

To be fair,it hasn't been worked on for 5 years, only since they changed the engine that dayz has truly been worked on,which hasn't been that long in gaming terms. Give them a break ffs
