After over 15 years, Grim Fandango finally comes to consoles

UPDATE: Announced as exclusive to PS4 and Vita, but Schafer tweets about "other platforms".

UPDATE 09:00 BST: Double Fine's Tim Schafer has tweeted suggesting that the remastered Grim Fandango may appear on other platforms.

At its conference, Sony's Adam Boyes said it would be "coming exclusively to both PS4 and PS Vita", but Schafer later tweeted:

"Talk about other platforms soon! Sony's been a great help making this happen & we're excited to be working with them on the console version!"

Perhaps it's a console exclusive on PlayStation formats but PC owners will be taken care of later.

ORIGINAL STORY: Tim Schafer's colourful noir classic Grim Fandango is finally, finally coming to consoles, more than 15 years after its PC debut in October 1998.

In a deal between Double Fine and Disney - who purchased Grim Fandango developer LucasArts - the beloved point-and-click adventure is now coming exclusively to PS4 and Vita, Sony announced during its E3 press conference.

The cult favourite effortlessly blends Mexican folklore and classic noir in an adventure set in the land of the dead where a grim reaper discovers "a tale of crime and corruption."

"Its mile-a-minute punch-lines, stellar voice-acting, dazzling scenery, and well-rounded characters remain as enchanting now as they were 13 years ago," I wrote in my Grim Fandango retrospective back in 2012.

Grim Fandango Remastered is out now, and we've got a complete walkthrough for the game.
