3DS gets 5000 more UK Wi-Fi hotspots

SpotPass now more useful.

Ahead of this Friday's price-cut, Nintendo has announced a deal that means 5000 extra UK Wi-Fi hotspots are available to use with the 3DS.

Nintendo has partnered with The Cloud to deliver the new wireless hotspots.

The initiative should mean the 3DS SpotPass function can be used more often while users are out and about.

The extra hotspots should also boost Nintendo's plan to launch 3DS downloadable content, too.

"The Cloud partnership represents another exciting step that will continue to expand its appeal and encourage owners to take their Nintendo 3DS systems with them wherever they go, offering different and unique experiences everyday," Nintendo UK marketing director Dawn Paine said.
