£129 Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller nearly half price at Amazon

UPDATE: Pricing was an "error", Amazon cancels orders.

UPDATE 12/8/15 4.30PM: Amazon's offer of a (nearly) half-price Xbox One Elite Controller was sadly too good to be true.

The retailer has today sent out emails informing customers that their orders are being cancelled as the price was an "error".

Eurogamer reader carrot1401 shared his email from Amazon, below:

ORIGINAL STORY 4/8/15 10.30AM: Microsoft's pricey Xbox One Elite Controller has received a decent discount over at Amazon.

You can currently pre-order the £129.99 pad for £75.72 - a 42 per cent saving.

Microsoft hasn't announced an official price change, although we are just hours away from the company's Gamescom 2015 press conference.

We may hear more then, including word on a release date for the pad.

Eurogamer will report live from the event at 3pm UK time.

We went hands-on with the Xbox One Elite Wireless controller back at E3, and tried out its back toggles, trigger locks and redesigned bumpers.

It was impressive stuff - although disappointing that it still requires AA batteries rather than a rechargable power pack. Oh, and then there's that price tag, even at half price...
