I already have this on the N64 thanks. Join the 21st centrury, Nintendo and create some new games instead of milking your old franchises.
I also dont care that this will recieve negative votes, just goes to show that I hit a nerve.

Kinda weird considering it's a remake of my personal all-time favorite game ever.
Still can't wait to lay my hands on this gem, Starfox 64 3d and Super Mario 3d.
Nintendo know how to conjure a smile on a 24 year old's face ^^

I can't wait to get this. Ocarina of Time is one of my favourite games ever. I bought the 3DS the day it came out for this game specifically.

If you compare it to, say Final Fantasy VI, that was re-released (not free) on Playstation, Game Boy Advance, Virtual Console and now PSP.

With me it's not so much the fact that there just rereleasing an old game. They do it all the time. what's botherin me with this is that I think it's a sorry state of affairs when a new console comes out and the game most people are excited about is an N64 game from 1997.

Couldnt of put it better myself.

Nintendo may be playing it safe, but when you have games of this kind of quality - why not play safe? They aren't alienating their market, if anything this remake will both appeal to the audience like myself who are curious about the 64DD content additions but still loved it originally - and also bring it to a new audience, a new generation who may have seen it and thought, "Meh, old game, cba!"
Yes, it's an HD remake. But it's an HD remake of what is so often hailed as the best game ever made. That's reason enough to give it some credibility - but this is the era of the HD remake. Sequels are out - HD remakes of old games, old Resident Evil, old Metal Gear Solid, old Halo, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus etc - are in. We have this odd problem now where a lot of people are looking BACK at games that were good, hoping in part that by looking back at quality means we'll move forward with quality when this HD Remake era runs its course. They think games have started to get stale. That what they used to play was better than what we play now.
But that said, the HD Remakes are of popular games - and of arguably great games. Some will work, others won't, and others may not make it to release. C'est la vie. Just enjoy the good stuff - and accept some stuff won't work.
And if the rumoured Terranigma remake happens, my stance will change completely to "More of this please!".

You don't want it?...fuck off then.

This is meant to be graphically enhanced. For something as powerful as a Gamecube,I expect better graphics. Majora's Mask looked better than this. This looks near-identical to the N64 original, with the exception of the odd little flower on the field.

No-one said it'd be HD or contain the missing 64DD content - THAT is why I'm pissed off, because they could have put in more effort for a remake. So far the only news is repeating boss fights.

Gohma didn't see what hit her, made an absolute mess of that face. Gonna need some Optrex on that eye, Love.

It's a very low quality vid, not to mention it will be in 3d.
Also - Majoras mask DID NOT look better than this. Are you serious? revisit.

OoT is a milestone in gaming and should be enjoyed by people not just 50 years down the line, but 100 years, and beyond. Theres nothing wrong in remaking- with some extra TLC, a game that is considered in the top few games ever made by alot of people. Secondly, the game is like 13 years old, and most gamers believe it or not have yet to expereince this game, and never really had the chance to do so. My 13 year old cousin is really excited for this, because he as always heard about the legend that is OoT but has had no way to experience it before. Also i havn;t played the game since release round a friends house, going round everyday of one summer to complete it together, so im majorly looking forward to revisiting it.
Films, books, and Music are always re-issued, games should be no different.

I appreciate this level of attention to detail in a remake. Compare that to SEGA and the recent fan-made remake of STreets of Rage - what do they do to stop it? Re-release SOR2 to feign relevance. Nintendo at least earn a few brownie points for effort.

@Kami. 64DD additions included? There was speculation at the first announcement of OoT coming out on 3DS but they were quashed soon enough. If I'm wrong I'd be absolutely delighted. If that's the case could you give me a link please?
As for people saying that younger players can experience it, what's wrong with having the original console and cartridge? eBay, 2nd hand game websites - how often are books and films remade? Films occasionally, books practically never (there are a few exceptions).
I think it would be awesome if every decent game was completely remade for every generation with significant enhancements,or just port it over to the latest platform's media - like Super Mario All Stars but without the bells and whistles and significantly cheaper (say... £10?). Keeps gamers happy so you don't have 12 different consoles around and makes easy extra money for games companies - or make every machine backward compatible with all its past media but this gets very complicated compared to books and film, and unlike other medias, you need to worry about carrying save data over. That said, with the ability for DLC these days, maybe game (re)production will make a large turning point.
