As much as Nintendo is not up my alley, I must admit that Zelda games are objectively great, and there aren't many people left in the industry that are as passionate about gaming as Nintendo is.

Wheres the love for the handheld games in that opening montage, just started on Links Awakening again on 3DS and forgot how good it was for the time.

I'm impressed and excited that the adoption of motion+ will allow for real time weapons change.Any word yet on how they're going to be implementing boss battles?

Am really looking forward to skyward sword, im just hoping that i can stand firm in my resolve not to rebuy ocarina.

Surprised that the trailer didnt mention the new 4 swords deal, really.

Is it me, or did that not contain any footage from Majora's Mask?

I love Majora's Mask, one of my favourite games in the series. I'm actually tempted to invest in a Wii for Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword now that the console's only around £99

didnt it show link putting a zora mask on?

I wouldn't get the Wii for Twilight Princess, the GC version handles far better.
  • higgins78 #7 12 months ago

@SG...Rubbish! The Wii version of Twilight handles differently is all, not better or worse. In fact, I find using the Wii Remote/Pointer for projectile attacks more involving that the basic controller set-up offered via the Gamecube pad. The fact also that Twilight Wii runs in full widescreen mode also adds another plus in its column. Overall however, whichever version of Twilight you do choose to play you cant be disappointed.

I was unfortunate in that I played the criminally under selling Okami on PS2 just before I played the GC version of Twilight Princess. I just though TP was a bit of a rip off, and didnt seem to have that many new ideas over say OoT (bar the updated graphics and the wolf mechanic). For a Zelda game trying something new, I thought Wind Waker and Majoras Mask were much much better games. I might have to buy MM on the Wii actually

Would have loved to see them talk a little about CDI Zelda

I still feel very teary eyed when i hear the fairy theme. The game just stays with you, even if it is 13 years since i played Ocarina. The music played such a big big role in that game. Memories sigh

    Makes me feel so old ;_;

Ocarina of time is my favourite game of all time. It blew my mind. So much so that I failed my exams because I was playing it instead of studying. Overall, the zelda series is probably my favourite series, but it's starting to feel a bit rehashed. I bought a gamecube just for windwaker. I only bought one more game for my gamecube and that was metroid. Anyway, I get less excited everytime a new one is announced. I know Zelda's not going to deviate much from all the other ones that have preceded it. If it did I'd probably moan about it, and because it hasn't I'm moaning about it. Furthermore, I know I will still buy it because it will be an extremely polished game and it's Zelda. Anyway, how good does wind waker still look? It looks less dated than twilight princess.

Yups, almost a decade old and wind waker is still the most beautiful game ever released on any console IMO, the graphics, and the way they can so easily express Link's emotions are just perfect.
  • erp #15 12 months ago

@King_of_Hyrule, I totally agree! And to think people *bitched* about its visuals when it was released? Thank goodness for Nintendo's stubborness at sticking to their vision, because otherwise we'd've been denied one of the greatest visual achievements in videogame history. And you know what? We'd've kindof deserved it too.

Wind Waker and Link's awakening are my two favorite zeldas... The cuteness of WW can't be topped, you really feel like a child going on an adventure. Every adult is nice to you and you have that special bond with kids too who really react to you like you're that little person. The whole game feels like a kid's fancy world.

So moments of epic courage really feel just like that, and the grueling battle against Ganondorf is only more poignant.

LA meanwhile is the very definition of that Nintendo 90s golden age.
