TOP TIP: do '/transform' and you'll be able to transform between human/worgen form before you get the racial at level 10. Pointless and lore breaking, but fun.

Must. Not. Go. Back. Must. Resist.

Most quest are just fetch and/or kill. Tedious stuff. Only the goblin starting zone gives you something completely diffirent. The Worgen starting zone reminded me of Allods Online, for some reason.
I just wish Blizzard would do something completely new and diffirent than what they have been doing. Cataclysm looks like it changed things but all it does is 'reskin' (for lack of a better term). Like, why do you always have to play as a bipedal creature? :/

I used to hate levelling alts, to the point where I didn't bother, only had a couple of level 80s, but I'm genuinely finding the revamped zones and quests more interesting, due to the above reasons. Of course, if you just rush through completing quests without reading any of the text to follow the story you might not agree, as the mechanics are largely the same. But the reasons given for killing x or collecting y are generally, imo, more compelling, they don't seem quite so arbitary.
Zones have been changes to varying ammounts. Silverpine, as a Horde member, is quite different, as is Hillsbrad, but Arathi isn't very different at all.

After you hit level 13, you move north to Silverpine, the quests and enemies of which now reflect the offence the Forsaken have launched against Gilneas and the worgen. If you play on a PvP server, it's a great chance to gank (or be ganked by) undead players.

Once you reach Darnassus you pick up a quest to go to help out with the battle in Darkshore, which is one of the most dramatically re-designed zones, so there is still plenty of new content to enjoy before any unchanged old content pops up.

In brief, we find them fun. Some people find FPS death matches fun, but I don't "get" them. if you don't like them don't play.

-Exploring a beautiful world (yes it might not be BUMP MAP SPECIAL MAP TEXTURES ALIASED RASTER LAYER SLI, but as a stylised world it's still pretty breathtaking in places.)
-Seeing a hard man over there, getting bummed by him, going away, getting a bit stronger then killing that hard man.
-As above, but with a real player hard man rather than an AI hard man.
-Some people enjoy the flavour of the quests - completing the quests as a means to getting more story.
-An extension to above, people out there enjoy the universe and its story.
-The feeling of advancement you get as your character levels up and up.
-The feeling of advancement as your equipment and items get cooler and shinier.
-The feeling of advancement as your abilities get stronger, cooler, shinier AND more fun.
-The social interaction side of it.
-The persistence of it - it feels like you're zoning into a second world.
-The gameplay mechanics (though I feel this is the stalest part of WoW now and in dire need of change.)
-The strategy, co-operation and sometimes leadership involved in completing certain dungeons or quests.
-The challenges presented by any of the above.
Most people didn't join Warcraft for everything on that list, but they often stay because it's the only one to have all of it (plus the stuff I missed) to such an expansive level.

But I won't. I quit before TBC and I don't plan on ever playing again. I've put 80 days (of 24 hours) into it, that's more than enough.
