Shame it shows nothing about the actual game you'll play really at all. Lots of cash on that, less for the development - not a good sign this close to launch unless they really have bottomless pockets.

EA are publishing it, so yes, they pretty much do have bottomless pockets seeing as EA really, really, really want this to be a big hit for them.

Impressive CGI. Complete lack of imagination otherwise. "Let's depict a bunch of the different classes you can play in-game duking it out using their actual in-game abilities." Sound at all familiar?

Also note the absolute lack of implication of driving underlying motives. No story description save "It is a time of reckoning" boring schlock-fantasy rhetoric.

Good to see a Lord of Change getting some screen time and looking like an absolute terror.

I sat with a :| face until the moment the dark elf(?) sorceress appeared and smashed the petrified soldier into bits. That was a remarkable moment.

So cool! I love CGI into trailers.

I'll start playing MMOs when this kind of stuff is in-game.

eek! im usualy cynical about these cgi vids but you can see when there is one worthy of pixar type praise.. this is it.

mostly the only people who seem to do these good enpugh are blizz or the sqare team for ff games.
im looking forward to war, but i want to play games that look like this :) who knows maybe in 10 years.. * looks hopefull*

Nice touch of humor too. A movie would be cool but they'd probably not be able to keep up the production values for 2 hours of stuff like this though.

Wow, that's an incredible FMV (intro for the game, I'm assuming?). As others have said, I'd love to see a feature-length movie done like that! Really got me excited for the game, which I guess was the main idea.

I'm not getting into the Warcraft vs. Warhammer debate though. Both have merit, and Warhammer is not the imitator. end of.

(And Warhammer owes more to Moorcock then Tolkien, a tale for another day though.)

Inspirations aside, this is about as close to Return of the King in terms of direction and shot design as it's possible to be without pointlessly remaking it. Looks impressive, lacks originality, says nothing about the game. Seem to remember WoW had a pretty incredible intro which it looked nothing like to play as well. Some regular gameplay footage might be nice.

lush, but im with Dizzy on this, the hungarian effort is by far the more stylish. they should get the case of money for a movie.

(but im still seething about Ea getting its mitts on warhammer...grrr)
