Getting tired of washed-up texture work, bland environments and lack of shaders, not to mention the ( nowadays ) stale gameplay... Yet, it will sell like the 2nd coming of Christ himself, with a new testament for them wicked.

Remember when CoD at least pretended it was about the horror of war?

Hmm. Not bowled over. Agree that the art falls short. Nevertheless, there's a nice atmosphere. And HELLO what is this super stealth bomber plane in the sky. That looks cool.
  • bad09 #4 2 years ago

For all the Acti hate and high pricing (no doubt a hike but I'll not pay over 30 notes like any other time) I'll probably go for this, I'm warming to MW2 and I do like Vietnam (must hunt down Vietcong again I lost my disc!).

However, it's not COD anymore in my eyes, this action hard on they have has ruined a big part of COD for me. Also, is anyone else actually missing WW2 COD? I'm half tempted to reinvest in COD2.

    Where are the zombies.
  • keano #6 2 years ago

    @bertie

its a blackbird sr71....high altitude recon plane built in the 60's , not a bomber.

i do get bored of the endless use of player flinging yourself off a cliff/helicopter/ any exploding structure type moments. in last few cods all pinical moments usually involve me flying through mid-air for some reason lol
  • bad09 #7 2 years ago

Isn't the Blackbird what many "UFO" sightings actually were at Area 51? I know it turned out the Stealth bomber tested there but I think Blackbird did to.

    Stupid Americans...or are they?

I wonder if they'll take any hints from Battlefield and realise multiplayer should be fun rather than a boring clusterfuck.
  • Spekingur #9 2 years ago

So... the release date shown... did anyone else think 9/11? And with a trailing thought of misusing this date for subconscious advertising?
  • 00.00.01 #10 2 years ago

"A lie is a lie..." Somehow I expect this game to rewrite history and convince us that the US haven't 'lost' in every major conflict they entered since WW II.
    .
    @ Spekingur 19/05/10 @ 09:36
Seems so me the marketing department advised that a 'special' date is cool and will increase sales. Them being americaninos makes them believe there is no other way of writing than their way. Object to that and they will invade your country.
    And rewrite your history too...
  • RazorObsession #11 2 years ago

it all seems very 1984 if you ask me
  • el_pollo_diablo #12 2 years ago

My excitement with this starts and ends with the SR71 Blackbird.
  • Spekingur #13 2 years ago

They already 'invaded'. Had a base here for a long time - incidently to repel 'The Russkis' from having a middle ground between Europe and the US.
Funnily enough, their old base is being used as student housing nowadays - the soldier housing at least (who brought their families here).

Looks like a MW2 mission pack. 1200 points worth.
  • Tonasaurus #15 2 years ago

God, I have enjoyed all of the COD games but I think I'm finally getting bored with them. The constant feed of Call of Duty in so many forms really irritates me. As always though, I'll still follow the masses and gobble it up, play it on easy SP and get repeatedly embarassed on MP for several weeks before finally realising I'm not rubbish because my weapons are crap, but because I am crap.Actually, thinking about it this is the case for most games I play, maybe I need a new hobby.
  • rotmm #16 2 years ago

Chap in first shot looks like Bruce Willis.
  • Douche #17 2 years ago

    M4RV,

Er, the Call of Duty shooters have the tightest FPS control system bar none. I would consider the controls the strongest point. It's certainly not 'stale'.
  • ignatiusjreilly #18 2 years ago

Huh? He didn't even mention the controls.
  • sneetch #19 2 years ago

Saigon... shit. I'm still only in Saigon...

I like the look of this too. It looks quite good but the stores are going to have to give a good deal to me too. Not paying the Activision RRP for this.

Enough leaping into or off of things in COD though please. I've had enough Xtr3m3 W4rf4r3!
  • septimus #20 2 years ago

Bored now. Made the mistake of getting MW2 (though Spec Ops is good fun) so won't be getting another.

    BF2 is much much better.

Shite, neither he did. Must control fanboy outbursts better in the future.
  • makeamazing #26 2 years ago

Total scripted action explosion mess again... you fooled me once with MW2, you wont do it again!!!
  • alastor2004 #27 2 years ago

The release is the 9th of November, not September 11th

as a skeptic, i still have to say this *looks* like it will be the dogs nuts... but so did MW2 and i played that for about 5 minutes it was that gash.

MoH however looks set to be godlike, if they pitch the multiplayer somewhere around BFBC2

"Getting tired of washed-up texture work, bland environments and lack of shaders"

Yeah, I am getting tired of games not even getting 30fps right being the new standard. Smooth motion and responsive controls are underrated.
  • bodypopper #30 2 years ago

I thought Black Ops missions were supposed to be stealthy and covert? This looks like business as usual.
  • max75 #31 2 years ago

yes more of the same boring cod franchise same boring game play run, shoot, stab, kill,
and tiny maps for online campers who kill you as soon as spwan,Bigger maps please like bfbc2....
but we love cod brand so do millions of others. sold, pre order it know it will be xmas no.1....
  • zedzee #32 2 years ago

Hmmph. Looks like CoD:BO has borrowed the engine (and ideas) of a Metal Gear Solid episode...right down to the rather tedious "they lied to us, but only we know the truth" cliched type of story narration. I don't see any originality here...

Wonderfully executed. Character models are ace.I'm sold.

As long as they don't take any hints from the boring clusterfuck that was BF single player, fine with me.
  • drhappy #35 2 years ago

this trailer just made me realize how sick i am getting of call of duty.
  • CalmHorizons #36 2 years ago

That monologue sounds like something Jerry Bruckhammer would mutter too himself in an alcohol sodden haze, on a Sunday afternoon, sitting on the crapper... It'll sell like hot cakes.

Jesus H Christ - nothing like a good dose of internet cynicism to ruin a good trailer. Well done to Treyarch, colour me excited! :D
  • LondonSquare82 #38 2 years ago

It's a well put together trailer so props to the video editing folks for this. To be honest I'll reserve my judgement on this until I hear more details on the multiplayer side of things as COD single player is all pretty standard fare across the series with its Hollywood treatment of the FPS. On those lines I'm thinking of getting a T-Shirt slogan printed which reads "Call of Duty is to games what Michael Bay is to movies" after hearing a friend of mine use that line in the pub last night. It felt alarmingly close to the truth!
  • thesonglessbird #39 2 years ago

Stick the Call Of Duty name on a turd and it'll sell.
  • StartCat #40 2 years ago

Stick the Call Of Duty name on a turd and it'll sell? Hardly, the Call of Duty series are known to be 'good' games, we already know that call of duty: black ops brings new thing sto the table. Sure Modern Warfare 2 was rather ... bad at times, but it was better than the most of the games that were released last year.
