I can just about get away with the whole rehash of Transformers, given the complete inability of the US entertainment industry to be both big and original at once. However, if you're doing new transformers, make them new; the helicopter Blackout (a US model, a S-65A Sea Stallion BTW) is OK, rubbish transforming aside. But Ironhide has always been a part of Transformers. Anyone who loved transformers as a child, like me, knows that Ironhide is supposed to be a red Datsun van. Stop with this re-imagining shite.

(yes, I know I'm taking this way too seriously. It just pisses me off that Michael Bay thinks it's OK to re-imagine, or to put it another way, fuck up, my memories of childhood, that's all)

The man's right though. Ironide's a van dammit!

More importantly and disturbingly is the fact that Jazz isn't a Porsche anymore. Is nothing in this world sacred?!!

Can you imagine how much GMC have paid to have him as a one of their pick-ups instead? Every (non-human) character in the film has the capacity to one enormous product-placement ad. Just be grateful they didn't turn Optimus Prime into a massive Coca-Cola tanker.

"Just be grateful they didn't turn Optimus Prime into a massive Coca-Cola tanker. "

There's a Hollywood producer reading this thread who's kicking himself because he didn't think of that.

Unattractive 'bots.... overly complicated/detailed design... tons of metal scrap, tubes and cables....

Film and game seem to be out of "Tetsuo", delirious stop-motion movie from late '80s. By Japanese author Tsukamoto, ca va sans dire.
