This is an RPG based on the Aurora engine, not Devil May Cry. By far the best animations seen yet in that genre. Maybe you should watch the other trailers to understand how the combat actually works.
As for the enemies in the end not doing much - they're probably a dozen levlels below the character in that video, you can see how they get interrupted.
