THIS GAME IS AMAZING! Really shows what a PC game can be without limitations. Thoroughly enjoying it...BUT WHERE IS THE REVIEW?? Oops, cap-attack.

Seriously though this is contender for best game of the year...theres no mention of it other than this. Is there an embargo? Or is it because its PC exclusive that it doesn't deserve the coverage?

So good he posted twice. Where is the EG review?
  • Wendelius #3 1 year ago

Reviewers got the code late. So I'd think EG is making sure they have a review based on more than a speed run to post around the end of this week.

Yeah the game is truly amazing, since Risen this is the only rpg that's managed to hold my attention.
    Can't get enough of it.

I'm playing it for three days now, the game keeps me impressed and I'm enjoying it to the fullest. It has some flaws like cumbersome items interaction and looting and sometimes kinda limited movement, but those are just minor issues that are very easy to get over. All in all, its almost perfect (like 9/10 for me). I haven't had so much fun with offline RPG since Morrowind.

The Witcher 2 is an awesome, awesome game IMO (sorry about the banal superlative but it impossible to put into mere words just how outstanding this game is). If it gets less than a 9 from EG then I'll eat my (chocolate flavoured!) hat and if there's any justice it deserves a 10 considering some of the other less deserving titles they've given that score to. Hopefully, CD Projekt RED will port it to the 360 and PS3 so that everyone can sample this game as it deserves to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

I really really want this game. Sadly I have a shite PC so will have to just dream for a console port.

I can only reiterate what has already been said. I've been playing it since Tuesday and I'm utterly in awe at how great it is, from a relatively small developer too. Could be GOTY for me.

Also, what a fantastic package the game is, £25 for game, soundtrack, map, handcraft, coin, game guide, etc!

They said the review would go up the end of next week.

Thanks to all the gushing in this comments section I have just bought this game on a whim.

I almost bought it yesterday, then I read about performance problems, having to restart the game after loading a new area and people telling to wait for a patch. Are those reports exaggerated? These games really need a try it before you buy option.
Can anyone with a nvidea GT230 confirm if the game works on it and is playable?

I have heard about some people having technical problems. I believe some of them were solved by installing another graphic card drivers. For me, the game runs very well and I haven't encountered any problems so far. I'm running i5 750 and oc'ed GTX460, full details (+AA, AF, SSAO) except their Ubersampling enabled. In populated areas like cities or forests runs smoothly on 40-60fps at 1280x800 and slightly worse at 1680x1050.
