One of the most bothersome of bugbears about Xbox Live is the awkwardness involved in assembling a group of like-minded chums to play a game. The new parties system does away with a lot of that hassle by allowing you to invite a group of your friends all in one go.

So many games lacked this sort of functionality (gears of war 1 was a complete pain in the arse for having to re-start and re-invite all the time), so adding it into the dash and having that work across all games is a bloody good move.
