When's the unhelpful embargo up for reviews of this?

I unfortunatly have played this game.. Just to say I loved Amped 2, its in my top 5 games, and was overjoyed at the simular control scheme (i.e not amped 3's)

    However my gripes:

    1) The controls are just not tight, like Amped 2..
    2) The leaning fwd to jump makes you flip
    3) Its so so slow.. its just painful
    4) It has no concept of Goofy/Regular
    5) The gfx are not what you think they will be
    6) It just seems empty, compared to even Amped 2
    7) The balance meter is like a knife edge.
    8) You cannot select the music tracks, or see what they are.
    9) carving - you cannot really.
    10) Stupid ravines which you fall into.
    11) It just doesn't gel as a game.

From what i have played I cannot image SW had a huge input in this game.

However i reallyl want this game to work, and will get it (rent it) when it comes out..

since when did having ginger hair become cool again?
Only Josh Homme and Eric Stoltz can wear that moniker.

Curious how this game turned out. Not enough good snowboarding games and I hated the Amped games.

    @Beano

Did you hate all 3, as 1&2 were so different to 3? Or you just a SSX type person?

    his teeth look fucking stupid.

    5) The gfx are not what you think they will be

Interesting point, potentially. Does it not match up at all well to released trailers - Can you offer any further explanation on this point?

not really interested in ps3/360 versions, but the wii fit board board as controller might make it worth a punt.
Although I keep falling off the balance board when I do the wii fit snowboarding, but this version might be a bit more responsive to how you move your weight around.

Bit worrying that they are not allowing reviews out before the game!

Cancelled my pre-order cos of it (well that and the multitude of other games I've bought recently). Will have to wait and see on this... my fingers are so so crossed but think I'll be let down.

The review embargo ended today so their should be some about.

Play gave the PS3 version 72% and Videogamer gave it 6/10. Doesn't sound like a great game but it doesn't sound awful either. Based on those reviews I'd expect it EG to give it 6/10 tops.

hope it's good, I really want a snowboarding game for wii.
the physics look before the jumps not so good actually.
  • kangarootoo #17 3 years ago

I loved Transworld Snowboarding and Amped 2 (Amped 1 was ok, but TW had better controls, which A2 then copied). So I'm interested to see how this turns out.
  • kangarootoo #18 3 years ago

    Ok, watched the full clip.

Thought he was a pretty good spokesperson for the game actually. He seemed to understand some of what was important in turning snowboarding into an entertaining game (hopefully).

His comments about SSX rang with me too. I never got into SSX. I know it was good, but it just wasn't what I want from a snowboarding game.

The online stuff souds ace too.

I'm a bit old cynic, so I shall wait and see, but I am feeling slightly positive about this (less positive after reading joe90's thoughts).

You can SNOWBALL other people! Ban this sick filth.

Also, he may be the coolest kid in America but he still looks like a jim henson creation.
