The Eurogamer TV Show: Ferrari Challenge

Published 27 June, 2008 Duration 5:11

Luxurious, stylish and terribly, terribly manly, Ferrari is a company which oozes class. System 3 boss Mark Cale wants all that in your lounge. We checked out the game and went along to Silverstone to see some of his cars.

"The video player has been hidden to improve page loading times."

Thanks, EG. I think I'll just watch all your flash ads instead.

What Flash ads? There aren't any on TV.

Its welcome that someone other then the main racing publishers/developers are trying but its not GT5 or even Race Driver.

Still will hold the death nail until released i guess.

looks good, but I doubt it will feature any damage...

    Ferrari license you say ;)
  • kgthatsme #6 4 years ago

Surely it'd be better if the developers themselves did some Ferarri driving!
Plus this racing game speak reminds me of one or two generations ago... realistic AI, driving simulator etc etc
  • kgthatsme #7 4 years ago

and surely 6 months after the release when its forgotton, not many people will be looking to the next track download.. Just give us the tracks now!

    Oh dear, this looks shit.

    Never mind.
  • Darren #9 4 years ago

Edge magazine gave it 7/10 so it CANNOT be shit. End of! ;)
  • Monkee #10 4 years ago

EDGE aren't what they used to be. It's Duff.

I have to say, from that video it does indeed look far, far removed from being AAA. There is a world of difference between average and good, let alone top of the pile.

    Guess it didn't make it.
  • aidey6 #12 4 years ago

It does not look very current gen, he should have got the guys who did Le Mans 24 Hours on the Dreamcast/PS2 on this instead.
  • Xensor #13 4 years ago

If i was Ferrari, i'd be pissed :p
  • seasidebaz #14 4 years ago

that video looked shite! And what's with getting Cheggers to narrate from the toilet? Bloody echoey...

I was looking forward to this, don't think I'll bother now

What's the betting EG do a 360/PS3 review and then never quite get around to letting us know about the Wii version, the big benders!

"What's the betting EG do a 360/PS3 review and then never quite get around to letting us know about the Wii version, the big benders!"

There's no 360 version, weirdly. PS3 review next week.

We'll do the Wii one, although it's out much later than PS3/DS. I am aware you want more Wii stuff. I'm trying to get a copy of AITD at the moment. The problem is that a lot of publishers withhold Wii code, so it's a struggle.
  • PotajiTo #17 4 years ago

    REALLY bad audio.
  • mcmothercruncher #18 4 years ago

Thanks for the info Mugwum, much appreciated.

It's frustrating as a Wii-er- you know your console has sold a bucket load but it's always the poor relation when it comes to multi-platform game reviews. At least it's a supply issue then and you don't ACTUALLY despise us. I think.

Can't wait for the Eurogamer review, they always make me laugh. Plus how can anyone tell from that video which showed virtually no racing at all. Plus who is doing the voice over, your not supposed to sound like your reading it.
  • Darren #20 4 years ago

Looks quite good to me although I noticed a weird screen tearing effect at the top of the video. Dunno whether that's the video or the game...
  • Nige #21 4 years ago

I tested Last Ninja part 2, this makes me feel old. Refreshing to see that Mark hasn't changed. I'm not sure this is the best way to demo your new game though "Hey poor people, look how minted I am, also, please buy my game so I'm continually welcome in Ferrari Owners Club circles."
  • bad09 #22 4 years ago

Hmm, was looking forward to this but it does look a little poor compared to others. Still I loved F355 on dreamcast and have hope on this one. Hopefully a demo will be released so I can try it first.

May have to buy out of respect for system 3. IK+, last ninja I love you...

i hpe EG review this game with the logitech steering wheel, something IGN failed to do
  • YourMessageHere #24 4 years ago

The gentle nudging and small tasteful flying polygons that occur when two large steel lumps collide at upwards of 80mph makes this game an instant laughing stock in my opinion.
  • illusiondance #25 4 years ago

cant you get some proffesional sound equipment mr Minkley?
(and sorry system3, sega sewed up ferrari racing with outrun2 and 355-challenge, so there better be something shockingly unique to get anybody other than poor middle aged men to buy this)
  • themorganator #26 4 years ago

Get out of the toilet Johnny! the sound on this report is pants!
  • FortysixterUK #27 4 years ago

    Show us some decent gameplay?
Looks a tad dull anyways...unless ( theres always an UNLESS ) they can pull of a Gotham Racer control system type job on all the cars it will sink without trace.
  • konnsky #28 4 years ago

as had been said before looks really uninspiring..
