Hmm. The WoW==drugs thing gets very boring very quickly.

Can we not have a bit more on the actual games, and less filler?

Jesus, just watching the first 10 seconds of that made me want to wipe my characters and walk away.
  • vagus #4 5 years ago

Whilst I like johnny having met him in the flesh, surely a less melancholy voice might be a better listen? It's not all about the video...
  • Strifer #5 5 years ago

Very entertaining. I especially liked "the laugh"; it just works. :)

    As always, EGTV delivers.
  • spindizzy #6 5 years ago

I couldn't even be bothered to finish watching it... that was a 5 second joke dragged out for an entire episode. Worst one by far.
  • LeD #7 5 years ago

Come on guys, it's quite amusing really.
  • jmctavish #8 5 years ago

I think some of you have missed the point of EGTV. I don't think it's supposed to be Cybernet.

Anyway, good show. Always entertaining to see bigger geeks than myself exist.
  • mankell #9 5 years ago

I agree, the drug joke analogy worked for a minute then became really unfunny.
  • Gurrah #10 5 years ago

Ahhh the IT-guys hat was irritating... flickering with 10fps... that's 10 flickers per second if you must ask.

  • smellysula #12 5 years ago

i thought it was funny. spindizzy you need to take a chill pill. i reckon it's worth watching.

who is the dude in profile??? is he a eurogamer writer? do we know him?

"You don't have to worry about the paedophiles who lurk around every street corner nowadays, it's great."

I would rather my child stayed in and played WoW instead of being out on the streets of London.....
  • otto #14 5 years ago

You'd rather your kid were indoors glued to a screen and a mouse running around in a virtual world killing things, than getting some fresh air & exercise.

    Hmm.

I'm not saying kids shouldn't play videogames but... blimey.
  • Khanivor #15 5 years ago

Clert, you will hook up again, you will.

    You will.
  • rodpad #16 5 years ago

Yeah, the running drug joke got old after about 10 seconds and isn't good satire.

    Sorry chaps.
  • wombat987 #17 5 years ago

    i thought it was gr8

    Woo yeah!

    :)
  • urban #18 5 years ago

    a bit too much parody.
  • Chtulie #19 5 years ago

That's stretchin content quite a bit. Nevermind the joke. Especially considering that EGtv isn't a weekly thing.
  • Biggles #20 5 years ago

Ha, I thought it was hilarious. Yeah, the drug thing got tired for a bit, but it was kinda funny that they just kept going on about it. 'Sides, it's a good meme virus for bringing attention to eurogamer from a business point of view, innit?

  • AtomicBanana Verified Level Designer, Playground Games #24 5 years ago

You can't drag one joke over a whole episode :(
  • Orange #25 5 years ago

Well as an admitted WoWholic I enjoyed this a great deal, was also nice to see Bertie on there confessing his addiction :)

  • stoopidgreg #26 5 years ago

i'm glad i never got hooked by warcrack. some bloody weirdos play it
  • dudefella #27 5 years ago

" that was a 5 second joke dragged out for an entire episode. Worst one by far."

Word. I kept thinking 'ok, now they're going to stop this silly gag' but it NEVER HAPPENED!
  • thefjk #28 5 years ago

You guys are sick this is the funniest thing documentary I've ever seen! I'm glad that I'm clean, but I wanna try this now, I wanna!
  • X201 #29 5 years ago

For once I'm actually glad that we still can't download podcasts and Video because I would have felt cheated if I'd wasted hard drive space on this.

  • _Price_ #30 5 years ago

Thought that was a good show, especially after hearing some of my mates stories

So obsessed did they get with their 'reality' server that after a particularly nasty PVP kidnapping event (!) a pair of them refused to be in the same room as each other. In real life. Idiots.
  • deafwing #31 5 years ago

its becoming a trend that at least one out of every 3 gamers know another gamer who is hooked on this game ... sad in some ways but damn.
  • Moonprince #32 5 years ago

Haha. Haven't seen it yet but looks like alot of WOW ladies are crying all over these comments because of the episode. PATHETIC!
  • mcmothercruncher #33 5 years ago

Lol at you crayzee Eurogamers and your crayzee editorial angles!
  • chelseabruceterry #34 5 years ago

In my opinion this is a better format for attacking games TV. EuroGamer spend too long on each topic:

(Got the link from the mutliplay site, the show covers i29).
  • alpha-0ne #35 5 years ago

Come on people lighten up a bit, i though it was funny, never dabbled with this online crack so good to see how there poor souls got pulled in

  • SuperBas #36 5 years ago

Luckily WoW sucks ass, and I have something called "taste," so I won't be getting hooked soon.
  • rodpad #37 5 years ago

Oh yeah, Owen-B, spot on with the voiceover.
  • alithebull #38 5 years ago

once again i think we're all a little to scathing of poor johnny's documentary. i enjoyed it (and i dont know a thing about WoW) and i think its good, free entertainment. Its interesting to see games being discussed in the 'real world' and not just written about on geeky websites (sorry EG, I love you really...) or in geeky magazines.

I enjoy EGTV, think its a great idea that is well produced and am looking forward to the next episode. bring it on.
  • warlockuk #39 5 years ago

Yeah... this is really annoying, to the point that I could only get a minute in :)
  • DivideAndCombo #40 5 years ago

    Very damn funny!

As someone who has yet to be hooked into the underbelly of the internet mmorpg beast! I found this video very funny! It was poetry! It reminded me a lot of Brass Eye or The Day Today!

    More humour like this!! :D

    thumbs up!
  • ZuluHero #41 5 years ago

i think £8.99 is pretty good for a whole month 'hit'...

better than £8.99 for like a 5 min hit of crack - or if you're a sex addict, a budget handjob from a aged tranny-granny down a seedy ally somewhere....

eww.. on that thought i'll stick with wow thanks :)

  • Mr-Brett #42 5 years ago

I thought that was pretty good, maybe it dragged out a little long but i enjoyed it more than the last couple of episodes.
  • X201 #43 5 years ago

"Haha. Haven't seen it yet but looks like alot of WOW ladies are crying all over these comments because of the episode. PATHETIC!"
    Just to make it clear.
    I've never played WoW
    And don't intend to.

The EGTV episode was still sh**

It's amusing, but I do have to worry that the **SATIRE** is undermining the fact that WoW *has* harmed people's lives. I'm not calling for a ban or anything, but seriously... it's tiny bit offensive to go "har har, people say it is a drug, but it's not a drug! You eat drugs, you don't play them. everyone knows that" when actually, it is harming some people.

I know a couple who got engaged, bought a house together, and split because he was playing WoW too much, not to mention the dead babies in korea. I rarely see a few of my other friends who got sucked up into it... and if I go round their house, I have to be satisfied with watching them play. And it is a social thing, but every social interaction on there forms an enabling relationship.

There are definately people who can deal with it responsibly, but seriously... a business model based on trying to keep people playing for as long as possible IS going to result in a game design which stretches your enjoyment out for longer than it probably needs to. I worry a bit about people who don't have such great self restraint - who are predisposed to developing addictions, even if others *are* enjoying it responsibly.

But I guess you can't make a billion dollar omlet without cracking a few eggs. Although, with at much money at your disposal, you'd think you could buy a machine which *could*.
  • peterfll #45 5 years ago

I have a huge sense of humour, and I'm so funny my peers are always laughing at me, but Johnny simply went on waaaaaay too long. It was simply yawntastic, and nothing to do with "having to chill".

    Come on Johnny. Come on.
  • Fluke #46 5 years ago

Oh Clerty stop making such a fuss and get yer ass back here.

We've scrapped the dkp system now. ;)
  • krenzler #47 5 years ago

  • drivenstorm #48 5 years ago

That simply wasn't funny. If you're laughing out loud at that level of satire then you probably find knock knock jokes funny.

First EG show that, for me, was genuinely uninteresting.

BTW what about that twat who thinks turning his kid into a nerd is ok because of paedophiles being on every street corner? I guess he believes everything he reads in the Daily Mail.
  • Paolo_ray #49 5 years ago

What an unfunny yawn-fest. The only episode I haven't watched to the end.
  • generica #50 5 years ago

I watched it for about a minute, shouted 'shut up' and then closed it.
  • Zuiyo #51 5 years ago

Good job, everything was spot on.
  • Smugglarn #52 5 years ago

    Funny and sadly... very accurate.

As an aspiring game developer I am a bit repulsed by the motivations and manipulative tactics of MMO developers. It's all about hooking the player and having them pay and pay and pay. Did I mention they just want you to keep paying?

That said my lvl 60 Warlock can't wait to enter the Dark Portal...
  • stuartbman #53 5 years ago

A true quote from my friend:
    "I don't need GCSE's. I can create epics"
  • erp #54 5 years ago

that was terrible. or at least, the 2 minutes of it i could bare watching were terrible.

plus it was yet another example of eurogamer trying to be chris morris. (very badly.)

    a shame.
  • Caimbeul #55 5 years ago

    ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Please dont do this again Eurogamer. Its a crap game anyway!
  • ekko #56 5 years ago

Is it just me or is this site painfully slow?
  • silentbob #57 5 years ago

Too much Satuerday Night Live, US sketch shows never know when to stop flogging a dead joke either.

Chuffed to see Clert on the telly though. Well ... sorta! :)
