Oi Fruit_Salad, Johnny Minkley is far from boring! Granted, he might want to check his inflections (they can get on one's nerves after a while), but I think he's funny, eloquent, and extremely sexy.

Johnny Minkley FTW, baby!

I thought it was pretty telling how little VT3 seemed to have changed when compared to the clips of VT on the Dreamcast. Apart from being in higher resolution it didn't look any different at all, the animation looked identical.

I was hoping they would have raised the bar in the animations of the players moving around the court. The players still look like they are spinning around the balls of there feet and don't look in any way natural when they change direction. The animations for actually hitting the ball are fine, but they were good before.

It all looks like completely canned animations, no concept of procedural animation that works out how a player would actually get from one position to another.

Good show again. Streets ahead of anything on the T.V.

I quite like Steve Davis' suggestion of the "unknown" game. There's way too much coverage of games. It's always more fun to play a game fresh, with next to no idea of what to expect.

When you see the Dreamcast VT clip you realise that VT3 is just the same game but slightly smoother.

It dragged on forever during the BattleStations Midway-bit. More like a really long commercial than anything else.

I like the idea of the unknown game as well, but who will have the balls to do that? Release a game with no coverage?

as for unknown games, no one would want to spend the dough unless they knew what they were getting but then turn round and say "there were no surprises". Seems to resemble a catch22 situation.

Give Johnny Minkley some crack! Seriously, lovin the work and all that... But... Pace needs picking up quick smart. Spoken to 3 people today from my office who didn't even get passed the museum tour, I mean the preview of Midway: Battlestations. I appreciate the subject matter isn't exactly full speed ahead (see what I did there) but it all feels a little bit too 'flat'. Maybe Minkley should let somebody else have a go?

The shows just get better and better. Some smashing interviews and great footage. And I'm loving the way in isn't all about the games with bits showing HMS Belfast and Steve Davies. BattleStations Midway looks set to be an essential purchase.

While i think EGTV is pretty professional and i really liked the earlier ones i have found the last 2 episodes too boring to actually watch, you're focusing on 1 or 2 games too much and especially when those games are a war simulator or a sports game you're gonna bore people.

Hideo Kojima should make the unknown game. He could be crazy enough to do it (just think Boktai - or his ideas about a game where game over really means game over).

His name alone ("from the creator of Metal Gear Solid!") should be enough to sell it. Publications & websites would have to accept not receiving a review copy. But keeping it under wraps these days? - Nearly impossible. Especially considering how large the dev. teams are. It would have to be a smaller select group.

But upon the release word would spread quickly of course. From then on it would be up to each individual to cover his/her ears (unless it's bought on day 1).

How about it Kojima?

One developer who could never pull it off? Lionhead & Peter Molyneux of course!

wouldnt it be great if they realeased an unkown game and it turned out to be halo 3... at least then we could be spared the inevitably tiresome advertsing campaign preceding launch.

loving the egtv show, but my god were a snooker and tennis game the only options to go for? battlestations was interesting, because there's lots to talk about. what more can you say about snooker & tennis other then they look nice, and play pretty much as well as they did last time...

sorry, did i just stray into the forum of some hypercritical TV website?

can we please talk about games and not the quality of the broadcasting? its only 25 minutes long and if you can't even sit through about a minute and a half's tour of a museum (it was even speeded up in places!!) you have been playing way too many games and need to read a book!!

calm down dearest!

...and in Steve Davis we get a 'celebrity name' associated with a game that actually seems to know something about both the product in question, and gaming in general. He made some interesting points, I thought.

Sumo doing an original IP for PS3. Pretty nice, I'd say.

And yeah, once again EG excels with the TV show. Minkley's comment on Sharapova made me laffo. Great host and classy ending credits tune.

@ Ryze:

Thinking the same thing. Keep with the times, EG. Even GameTrailers has been doing that for ages. A simple 320x240 AVC would run on both the iPod and the PSP.
