    They're always reticent on what the updates are, and we're getting used to the 'trust us a little bit' mantra...but no update yet included a new campaign, weapon or enemy. And that's probably the only thing that will placate the boycotters. I'm not one of them, but I understand how they feel and I'm as vocal about the poor showing from Valve, since Valve said they'd supply these things in updates when the original was released.

    Pick up an xbox to play this... nah, your alright I have an xbox and still don't want to play this. Didn't like the first one as it all moved too fast for me, bit like timesplitters. Can't all like the same games.

    Frankly, they could raise the RRP of this to £55 and I'd still buy it!

    Okay, so what's coming for L4D1? 'Uhh, there's this stuff... we released some stuff last week, too... and there's more stuff coming...'

    What about L4D2? 'There's much more specials, guns, 5 campaigns, special items...'

    Kind of funny how specific he is about Left 4 Dead 2, but gives no details about Left 4 Dead whatsoever. With that sort of attitude, few should be surprised why there was so much noise (and still is).

    agreed, never did get all the fuss over this game. was just a shooter. I think people who blindly worship Valve and still think zombles r teh coolest have made this their own little geek cult.

    @Donnie it would be good if this feature was added for pistols, and some ammo conservation was available for harder dificulties, give it more of a survival horror feel.

    Hm, it's unfortunate L4D2 isn't coming to PS3 but using the Orange Box as an example of why it won't is baffling; Valve should have done the porting themselves rather than offloading it onto EA and acting surprised when the conversion was poor.
    As for buying a 360, no thanks, I tried that once but I got burnt by the Red Rings one too many times so in this case I don't think the investment justifies the return. I'd sooner upgrade my PC since most major 360 exclusives head there anyway.

    personally i fucking love my xbox so i'll be getting it for that...good to see people haven't given up mentioning rings every chance they can get tho

    I don't know the details because I never had an Xbox, but the return policy has limits. I have 2 friends whose Boxes were fried, but they couldn't get a new one for free.

    Err, no. A RROD - which is the claim made - always gives you a new one if it's 3 years within the DOP. So unless you bought it on day one, chances are that yours is still under contract. Even better, mine expired last december but when I rang them up last month they gave me no problems at all.

    Cannot Wait bring it on! Don't get the "wah! It's only been a year!" I actually enjoy getting sequels to games I love, wish it happened more for the games I love!

    Left4dead2???, even if it would be coming out only for the ps3 i woundnt buy it, looks like crap 4 me...should be named LLC (looks like crap). well this is my opionion, perhaps many others will desagree with moi

    Yes, twice. First time was the disk drive, second time was the RRoD. Took about 2 weeks to get repaired with each breakage and all within a year; I've never owned a console quite so fragile. I realised where this would lead once the 3 year policy finally ran out so I did a trade-in deal for a PS3.

    I figure the RROD systems will eventually get flushed through. 3 years from now there probably won't be any out there.

    I am on my 5th now I think, swapped about 3 months ago. The last replacement was the first time I hadn't been able to just take it back to PCWorld (I was outside their own 1 yr return to base, but within the 3 yr MS extended warranty).

    They didn't repair it, then just swapped it, and the turnaround from dropping my bust one off to receiving the replacement was less than a week.

    Oh poopy I wanted to play this but since I only have a PS3 and my PC probably isn't up to scratch with this game I'm stuck....

    Which begs the question, which 360 exclusive is coming PS3's way?

    I will pick this up for my PC if it's a decent price on Steam at launch. Otherwise, I will wait.

    Still waiting along with everyone else for more official content on the 1st game. I'm surprised there hasn't been more community stuff like there is with Counter-Strike: Source.

    I wonder if L4D3 will be announced next year at E3?

    The game is Castle Crashers which is heading to the PS3, although I've heard some rumblings about the GTA4 DLC (apparently it's simialr to what's happened with the Fallout 3 DLC).

    Sounds like Valve don't really have anything concrete for L4D1 which is a shame, they have had plenty of time to produce additional campaign for L4D1 but have chosen to go down the more lucrative route of a sequel. I don't blame them but at least be honest about it and don't treat your customers like idiots. After L4D1 I will be more wary of buying Valve products on release in future.

    That's got to be the worst excuse for not doing a PS3 release that I've heard. It amounted to 'Meh, we can't be bothered because it sucked last time when we let someone else do it.' How about getting someone better to do it this time?

    I loved L4D, but I don't have a Gold Live account (I'd rather spend the £30 on a game. Or beer. Or going out. Or not being called 'gay' by teenage Americans.) so I only played it co-op.

    Even if there was a PS3 version I would still buy it on the 360 because live makes the game. I can imagine playing this on the PS3 with most people not even having mic's and a lot that do just feedback all the time, shite.

    Does this return policy work in Holland? No catch whatsoever? Then my friend made stupid decision when he wrecked his Xbox a few months ago.

    I do know that 2 red lights falls outside of the warranty, because it's not a 3 light RRoD. That sucks.

    I've sent back 2 360's now neither of which had 3 red rings, just go through the crap with the guy on the support line and say it's got 3 red rings, they will fix it anyway. I'm sure they don't care after all the hardware is cheap shite they make all the money on the games.

    Why would anyone even consider getting this on console? Valve's Source engine is, like, five years old and not much different now, so if you have a PC you should be able to run it. THEN you can play new content. Okay, fair enough, I know some people prefer FPS games with a controller rather than mouse/keyboard.

    Still, I'm a "naysayer", although not necessarily for all the reasons the Boycotters group complain about. I'm more worried about time - one year is not enough time to make a quality first-rate game. It definitely feels like they're rushing it, if this came out next year I wouldn't be complaining. Also there's the undoubtable feeling that the original L4D has been left behind - it takes Valve 12 months to make a whole sequel, but 8 months to make a simple SDK?

    Plus I must personally admit to not liking the look of the whole thing at the moment. The first had a grainy horror-movie feel, but this one doesn't seem to have that charm. I don't really WANT more story either, this is a multiplayer game, no one cares. The world and characters maybe, but not the plot.

    Good things? The Wandering Witch, the chainsaw, the gauntlet finales, new zombie types. Not enough to make me buy it at launch, which is the first Valve game I've ever said that about. Shame.

    Didn't like the original despite playing it with flat mates. Was expecting an epic story to go through with cut scenes and everything. Instead I got a couple of Counterstrike maps with a load of zombies in it... pfft.

    The funny thing is, The Orange Box has a metascore of 89 on PS3, which is higher than all of the Counter-Strike games and the same as Left 4 Dead on PC. Does this mean that they may drop the PC version because 89/100 is so fuckin bad?

    Playing FPS with a controller is about as sensible as playing RTS with a force feedback wheel.

    Oh yeah give me some of that slow, unprecise analog stick action.

    I guess most people just follow marketing before common sense.
