Yeah, I want 950 cars even if it takes 10 years, it's much better than having just 400 in less than a month. I just need them 950.
    Bummer.

Gotta be a Microsoft product to make it onto EGTV these days?

In regards to the amount of cars in Forza vs Gran Turismo..

I haven't seen a car list for GT5, I don't believe one has been released yet, so let's use the PSP version as an example which boasts over 800 cars. Most of these are exactly the same car, only with different stats.

Take a look at the list and you'll see over 50 of them are Skylines, 30 Impreza's, etc.. All identical. When it comes down to it, the actual number of unique cars is well under half of what they're advertising.

Forza doesn't need to use these duplicates, as you're able to tune and customise them far more. I'm sure GT5 will still win out with the number of cars they have, as well as the different types, but the way they're advertising it is definitely misleading.

Got to say in the time I've been waiting to buy GT5 for my PS3 (my preorder on GAME has been there so long it's now an antique) I've bought both Forza 2 and Forza 3 for my 360, so just how many cars is that in total? Though in theory GT5 is still zero cars as it's still not here yet.

you are a really good singer Johnny. fact.

And you know for dead certain GT5 a lotta better to wait for? Tried your hand on the latest build of GT5 did you?!

In my case, I will almost certainly get both and I m keeping my mind open as to which or both will get most of my loving!! F3 demo I m liking.... Turn 10 does a good job of turning out improved products in a reasonable timeframe. My only worry with Poly, is how much Japanese gaming dev mindset they are in? Ie reports of Western game devs being more willing to innovate and taking games forward.

    GT3 remains my favourite though.

If all cars in Forza 3 were unlocked from the beginning it would take over 33 hours just to try each one for 5 minutes. That is no unlocking, no online, no tunning, no replays, no repeating races... the value in the game is just astonishing.

GT5 is very similar. More cars, less customization. Both feature lots of tracks. Both will make their followers game for hundreds of hours...

If I was a developer the last genre I'd get into would be racing games: People expect great polish, great graphics, huge numbers of licensed cars, large number of tracks... Production costs must be astronomic just to be considered a candidate (even Forza 3, probably the best racer for consoles, has to face daily beating because it only features 400 cars...).

The lack of comment on Lips really does show how little impact it made.

As for Forza 3 playing the demo it's a vast improvement on the original (which was shit) Though Can't help but think that Forza is the product they set out to make and the preview games should have been called Forza Beta and Forza Prologe

    Cannot wait for this :D

"In all honesty, they could just release GT4 in HD and it would still be better that most other console racers."

You fantasist. I completed GT4 100% and there is no way that statement is true.

Personally I don't think the number of cars is even an issue - 200 is probably more than most will use. At the end of the day, we're gamers and we need games to play. How sony fanbots can harp on about the number of cars when you're still waiting for GT5 astonishes me. We'll play Forza in 3 weeks and I'm sure it'll be awesome. You can talk about GT 5 when it comes out.... whenever that is.

    Forza is fully full.
  • ronuds #16 3 years ago

evilfoxhound! I thought you had changed your ways, but here you are trolling Forza again!

Now I don't want to hear shit next time I question your motives in regards to anything you ever say about a 360 game again! That is, if you even HAVE a 360.

    I'm so disappointed...

this song?...is it coldplay?..anyone knows? plz!
  • ThePissartist #18 3 years ago

    Alan Wake looks sexy.

When are Eurogamer going to realise these as video podcasts?
  • christourlord #19 3 years ago

@Plark, it's Coldplay plagiarising Joe Satriani.

@Eurogamer, please don't use an irritating audio clip for repetitive parts of your production. The cuts to your questions in the Alan Wake segment made me want to stop the video.
