    Shit rules, shit season, game better not be too realistic otherwise we will all fall asleep playing it.

    How could EG mention top F1 games without mentioning Vroom!..?

    How?

    Jeepers!

    Interesting choice of car for the preview pic considering BMW aren't even in F1 anymore, and that car is from seasons ago.

    Still no news regarding the framerate (30 fps or 60 fps).. I assume it's only 30 fps then. A shame!

    Classics of their time? makes no sense.

    No mention of Nigel Mansell in the list of great F1 games? Oh dear...

    Anyway this is gonna looks tasty on my PC, my wheel is ready and waiting. After Grid and Dirt I didn't think I'd say that for a codies racer!

    @Eraysor

    The final 2010 liveries were only revealed two weeks ago, so it's no surprise that they don't yet have a build with the 2010 cars running yet. Considering it's not released until September I think they should be ok.

    I just hope that they include the 09 season, would seem a waste considering they coded pit stops and have all the final liveries in place.

    I hope it doesn't become a dumb arcade racer as with Dirt 2 - more reality it racing is what keeps it fun to race!
  • Eraysor #9 2 years ago

    @secombe

    That's a 2008 car though.

    @Beano - there is no chance this will be 60fps on xbox 360/PS3, the consoles just aren't powerful enough to handle all the cars, track detail, draw distance, weather effects etc. effectively at 60fps.

    Dirt and Grid were both great fun at 30fps and I've got big hopes for this, and if they use a similar motion blurring technique I'm more than happy :)

    On the PC however there's every chance with a powerful enough graphics card that you'll be able to benefit from an increased frame rate!!

    @TRUTH - have to agree Dirt was fun, but F1 needs to be embrace the simulation - all sounds positive at the moment though :) (and certainly more exciting than the real season!!)

    Crap company...

    @Eraysor - That image on the front page isn't taken from F1 2010. All the cars in our current screens and videos are from the 2009 season, but when the 2010 cars are fully modelled we'll be using them instead.

    Please don't screw this up Codemasters. The handling in GRID and to a slightly lesser extent DiRT 1 was horrible, but DiRT 2 hit a pretty good balance between arcade and sim in my opinion (having recently returned to PC sim racing, mainly with iRacing, I would obviously prefer F1 2010 to be a proper sim, but that's probably not within the realm of realistic expectations).
  • Beano #14 2 years ago

    @Sniper_007: You call for simulation focus in F1 but claim 30fps is enough and refereence the arcadeish GRID and DIRT games... doesn't quite compute.
  • MrLovePump #15 2 years ago

    30fps was confirmed, not a massive biggy for me as long as it plays well.

    The final game will only feature 2010 stuff... It's a licencing issue.

    Why did EG stop making 'proper' episodes? These extended adverts aren't half as good really.

    now that they have to push 20+ cars on the track EGO engine isnt looking so cocky, flipping brown filter is back, flipping bloom is back, their driving model (Considering Dirt 2). Its hard to get excited by this.
