The world of international espionage is a surprisingly social place. Far from consisting of monosyllabic assassins lurking in dark corners of the world, not talking to one another, it turns out that there are a fair few characters on the scene, jazzing around like good 'uns.

Same here. Maybe it works more in a mission based way where you get a group of people together as a team to do instanced missions?

I'm certainly interested though.

Cool... though very TF2.

The Agency is an MMOG, but is a 3rd-person squad-based shooter rather than an RPG. Small squads tackling instanced missions is the core of the gameplay IIRC.

its because its a very pretty and very cheap location to shoot in.
plus the eastern european nature of the place gives it plenty of cold-war nostalgia points.

games invariably copy movies so here we are at ... some forgetable espionage mmo set in a unfettered cliche.

The Agency is based around multiple cities, not just Prague. SoE still haven't announced whether or not it will be subscription based, but it is looking more likely that it will be free to play with optional micro-payments.

Not so sure about the tongue-in-cheek, camped-up style. WoW is broad enough to be as serious or as silly as you want it to be. This looks limited to an Avengers or Carry On Spying feel. I hope subsequent info shows there's more to it.

trailer looks awesome. but i have no idea how that will translate into an mmo. whats the gameplay like day to day?
maybe they should make an animated TV show from that instead. would be kinda cool.

aye, like: you dont have to pay us to play this game... fun is optional... on that note you must pay us 'Optional micro(as in small)payments' for all the fun bits.

should just go the guild wars route. sell the game, then sell regular expansions, with the normal bug fix updates free.
