I think the whole Tekken 'story' has gone a bit crazy in a wtf is going on kind of way judging by the trailer. Not too sure about some of these new characters either; That pink haired chick reminds me of Mignon from KOF:MI and Bob just looks ridiculous.

Obviously its the gameplay that matters though.

EDIT: It seems that the two new characters shown in that trailer (and possibly the whole trailer) are from Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, an updated version of T6 that'll be out in Japan this year. Looks like the first signs of console DLC there then.

I am getting really tired of this pretensious story bullshit. There is no freedom of choice in these games, excellent gameplay, but really this japanese obsession with pointless stories. I bet they spend half the time thinking what is the character feeling as he gets smashed in the face wtf.

If you don't like the stories, just ignore them, they have never played any material role in a fighting game. They just give the CGI teams something to do while the rest of the coders are working on the game.

One of the reasons that T6 is taking so long to come out on consoles is because they're converting Bloodline Rebellion, which they haven't even released in the arcades yet, rather than the base game. So one would expect the two new characters to be in the game at launch. With Namco's record on DLC, though, we're pretty sure to see some some attempts to nickel and dime the customers pretty soon after release.

Ah, that makes sense then. I imagined they'd convert the base version then charge people for DLC characters. I hope they don't because, to me, that kind of DLC is plain wrong and restrictive to those without internet connections etc. I prefer to unlock things with my skills not my credit card :)
