Published 5 January, 2009 Duration 2:28

Feng and Armor King face off in this first to three rumble, in an arena that looks suspiciously like a Butlins Halo.

the background is out of this world.also i like what they have done with the sidestep.its more like tekken tag than tekken 5 which rarely used the sidestep.it looks like it anyway.

    @ Bodybuilder

    isnt Tekken made by Namco?
  • chronom4n #5 3 years ago

the music sounds a lot like the soul calibur soundtrack. Still, the gameplay seems a lot more intense.
  • ts_error #6 3 years ago

Looks VERY familiar gameplay-wise... Great graphics, though.
  • phantom516 #7 3 years ago

Nothing new here, where's the innovation for Next Gen ???
  • Aretak #8 3 years ago

    Tekken was never good.
  • Beano #9 3 years ago

Look like Tekken but animations also looks much improved.
  • Umalakai #10 3 years ago

    1. Feng seems to be extremely cheap in that video (that much damage from air juggles and ground attacks? seriously?)

    2. I dont see anything there i couldnt get by going and playing Tekken: DR online. For a next gen leap, Tekken Tag was infinitely more impressive.
  • Buran #11 3 years ago

Tekken 5 DR is still the best fighting game that I've play since SC II, so is not hard to figure that T6 BR will be the king at the moment He touches the streets. Personally, I was playing a lot more Soul Calibur IV than T5 DRO lately, but is only matter of tastes: T5 is better as a game.

I see a lot of hate vs Tekken in the last times; my only complaint is that the graphis could be much better in this gen than DOA 4, SC IV and T6, taking KZ2 into consideration. Anyway, it's fine. What is more dissapointing is the amount of people posting shit about Tekken, people that barely play -any- fighting games, and haven't done a Electric Wind GodFist in his life.

If I read from Qudans, Aiken, Knee -insert a long list of elite players here- that "T6 s u c k s" then I would be worried, but since the only complaints came from GTA/COD/Halo/FIFA players my only answer is "I don't care, this game will be amazing".
  • The_Surreal #12 3 years ago

OK so I'll definately get this game beause I'm a Tekken lover, but I'm a bit disapointed that they havent made it look all that much better than DR.

The only thing that bothered me about buying a 360 was that I wouldn'd play Tekken again for a long time, now thats fixed I'm counting the days (unfortunatly lots of them).

I only have time to learn one fighting game in this life and Tekken has taken so much of my youth I'd be stupid to abandon it now.
  • Setaro #15 3 years ago

Omfg Feng is cheap as hell. Juggling should be banned in all fighting games.
  • Buran #16 3 years ago

    Farticusmaximus:

But Tekken 5 DR cost me 12 € and looks great -runs marvelous at 1080p x 60 Hz in my 46" Panasonic PZ85-. I have spent a lot more times with it that with my 720p VF5. The same "rehash" argument can be aplied to the sub-770p Halo 3 engine.
  • bdc #17 3 years ago

The motion blur really makes it look amazing though.
  • JahB #18 3 years ago

huh? "makes it look amazing"?? it looks exactly like T5 and T4 did. i wish they could be asked to make a great NEW fighting game, instead of giving us rehash after rehash after rehash.
  • JahB #19 3 years ago

the rehash argument doesn't stand for halo 3. yes, it's a mediocre game at best, but it's a new game. if a game is rehash or not is not determined by it's native resulotion, but by it's gameplay. and somebody that hasn't spent 300 hours playing Tekken X before couldn't tell the difference between this, 5 or 4.

    @ magicpocket.
I know, that's why I specifically asked for capcom. :-)
  • fshockz #21 3 years ago

    why does the ground explode?

    &

    feng is super cheap!

I hate to rain on your parade EG, but there's been a bazillion Tekken 6 videos on youtube for months!

On another issue, Tekken will always be my first love when it comes to fighting games (Tekken 2 is the best fighting game ever made, imho :)). But this trend towards ridiculous air combos and cheesing wallhit nonsense is quite frankly a steaming pile and turns it from a fighting game into a who-can-start-the-cheese-faster game. Depressing.

Does anyone know what this footage is from? Is this arcade footage, or perhaps PS3 (as the arcade runs on hardware very similar to the PS3). I'm assuming Namco don't have it up and running on the Xbox 360 yet, I thought that was one of the reasons the release date is so far away.
  • Buran #24 3 years ago

    farticusmaximus (again):

"Doesn't matter if it's 1080p, 720p or SD resolution if the gameplay is as tired and boring as Tekken has become."

This seems to be a bad tempt to flame from your side; taking in consideration that Tekken 5 was the most important fg in the last EVO Tournaments and by far the most important 3D fg in PRIDE tournament I truly can't see how can be boring.

In fact, Tekken 6 BR is currently the most played 3D fg in arcades and the tekken saga was the most selled fg in last generation of consoles. The sales from Tekken titles are always better than in VF, DOA or SC, which is weird if we take your opinion as valid.

About the juggles, most of the players lacks of skill and can't imput more than 3 hits in a air combo, so if anyone tramples any of you with a 8+ hit combo/bounce/chain stun probably you must assume that this guy is better than you. The same goes when other player ring out you in a single hit in SC IV :)

Tekken 6 BR definitively isn't a copy & paste fron T5 DR: there is no Rage system in T5 DR, there is no bounce combo, there is no breakable tiers in the stages, there is not Miguel, Bob, Zafina, Lars, Alisa, or Azazel. Also, there is at least 8-12 new moves per character to all the old ones, all the jabs hits now in 10 frames -instead of the 8-to-10 in T5- etc.

I was hearing the old "is the same game" song since TTT and T4 even when both games were utterly different compared to T3, and the only boring thing about Tekken is to hear the same mindless complaints from people that already are not fg players.

    sorry, too much juggling.
  • syphon92 #26 3 years ago

does anybody still even plays tekken? i dont like those button masher games at all...

I think we do expect more. The problem that is happening with fighting games like SCIV and Tekken is that to try and add a layer of depth, they're putting in stats you build up or change with bought items and clothing etc. The Japanese love it, but in SCIV it just bored me. Great, let me make an awesome looking ninja swordsman but penalising me on each piece of gear as a result? That sucks.

I think all Tekken 6 needs to do is be a great fighting game. No frills, no fuss (though we'll end up with character creation YOINK big boobies ahoy-hoy). Stop impacting the technical aspects of a fighting game with RPG-style stats. If I want an RPG, I'll play an RPG. When I play a fighting game it's because I'm pissed off and want to put someones face into the floor.

I'm sure some do love the crossover of RPG into Fighting Game... but to me, this is why Street Fighter 4 is more appealing. It's technical in its own right, and doesn't need to addd in complex stats management to make it a deeper experience.
  • Kami #29 3 years ago

Should also point out the reason the Japanese do like their stats thing is they still have memory cards they can take to arcades and home again to show off. I haven't seen a games arcade in years, the last one I knew of shut down three years ago...
  • Bangaioh #30 3 years ago

After SFIV? This simply looks soooo dated...
