Im getting more impressed by this every time i see it, ive gone from mild antipathy through to bored disinterest progressing on to light curiosity and out the other side to foaming at the mouth fanaticism :)

in other words i cant wait to give it a try.

I am on the edge when it comes to Tabula Rasa... visually it looks very stunning, I like that it's an MMO in a futuristic setting but I am not sure how the whole thing plays... I've never seen any GUI shots, no explanation how it's being controlled, and most importantly how the character development and combat works... still I'm keeping my eyes peeled for more to come.

Gurrah, it's sort of like planetside in third person. But not really.

All of the combat is in real time, and it works. You choose targets like other mmo's and lock on. You can fire away at them depending on your weapon, and hit. But it's the head shots and other vulnerable zones that you'll want to aim at. Reminds me of those flightsims or space sims where your reticule highlights a sweet spot on a target to hit. There are tons of different guns and armour. EMP stuff being better suited to robots etc whilst maybe projectiles being better at shooting big squishy things.

Character development works a little like SWG. You start out as a grunt and then as you slowly progress, choose specialisations to focus on, eventually you have to commit to a class.. and so on. Everyone in the game is combat effective, and the longer you play the more important tactics are and groups.

    The end.

Gl3n, you almost had me with the first sentence, but managed to crush my hopes in the second one...

I'd love a new PlanetSide in firstperson but a kind-of-new-PlanetSide in third person would have been fine too :). Ah well, as I was saying, I'll keep reading the infos and'll eventually make my mind up.
