Never played MG1. This actually looks really appealing. As platform games go, new ideas are often thin on the ground, but this seems rather packed with them.

Still not took the plunge and made a Wii purchase. Was really close after Xmas, but I've sort of lost interest a bit again. One day I guess.

This was shown at the US media summit. Still looks good though. I love the Yoshi platforming mechanics.

I'm among the few that didn't see the fuss about the first one, but I'm sure this is very exciting for fans... To me it's all a bit 'meh'. Shame - I really want to like it too.

Yep, or ME2 and ME1 or Bioshock 2 or 1 or indeed just about any recent sequel.

Personally, I can't wait, I loved Galaxy 1 and this is day one stuff for me.

The first one and MarioKart are the only tiny niggling regrets I have over swapping my Wii for a 360. This looks awesome again - glad the gravity-reversing bits are back, they were some of the most inspired gaming moments of all time in my opinion.

Anyone want to lend me their Wii for a week when this comes out?

Right at the end, there's a bit of gravity-flipping gameplay that looks very VVVVVV.

EDIT: ah MG1 got there first. Didn't think either had copied off the other; just thought it was a nice co-incidence.

You mean VVVVVV has gravity-flipping gameplay that looks very much like Super Mario Galaxy? SMG 1 had similar sections long before VVVVVV came out.

The original is one of the few games that make me wish I had a Wii and this looks the same. Unfortunately I already have a XBox 360, PS3 and DS and my kids are not old enough to justify it with the Mrs !
