    A bit emo for me....

    Also no gameplay.
  • Daddy-Doom-Bar #2 12 months ago

Cool. Stunning cinematic. But we all want some gameplay!!!
  • Inmediasress #3 12 months ago

It's not bad I mean the video but yeah it would be nice to see some gameplay. Then again I think it will be nice to see a bit of silent hill aproach to the tomb raider series with a more darker and mystical tone.
Depending on the gameplay this could be really good.
  • konstantinos #4 12 months ago

well, this certainly bodes well...! excellent quality cgi (and voice over) and I looove the general tone of this...! Drake should have a female counterpart, one that's less flippant than he is... hope they show some gameplay soon, though... that will be the dealmaker/dealbreaker for me...

    cheerio...
  • Ged42 #5 12 months ago

Looks pretty good, I like the ship graveyard setting.
  • rashes #6 12 months ago

I was worried that they were bringing in a stupid love interest or a playable male character. Hopefully not.
  • Canyarion #7 12 months ago

That's a really epic trailer. I haven't played Tomb Raider since the original, but I'm interested again.

Oh and I hate that InFamous 2 ad.
  • Deckard1 #8 12 months ago

Hopefully you'll get to see her tits in this one.
  • Bealsy #9 12 months ago

Now there's a trailer that pulls you in. More please.
  • thesonglessbird #10 12 months ago

Looks nice. I hope they gameplay is decent, looking forward to this one.
  • Embar #11 12 months ago

What's with the Yuppie accent? She sounds like a boring townie toff, prolongued s' and all...
  • Scritti #12 12 months ago

    Fall 2012???

    Bugger. That's yonks away.

By then, I might nearly drown on the Dover to Dunkirk ferry, get washed up on an undiscovered island and have my very own tomb raiding adventures. Unless there's O2 reception in which case I'll just call the missus and get her to pick me up.

    Bah.
  • MatMan562 #13 12 months ago

Autumn 2012?!?! I thought this was coming out later this year or early next. Ah well, i'd rather they took their time and made it as good as possible. Loads coming out already as well

I thought this trailer was excellent. Hopefully some gameplay will be shown at E3
  • Xabarin #14 12 months ago

Wow, more than a year from now... I eagerly wait for this game, hope it's worth the wait. Amazing CG!!!
  • Beano #15 12 months ago

Nice trailer - but show us gameplay instead!
  • coojam #16 12 months ago

Amazing, love it. At least in terms of tone, I'm surprised any of us ever doubted the developers.

Also, THANK GOD SHE'S STILL ENGLISH.
  • roz123 #17 12 months ago

Hopefully the game will live up to its cutscenes
  • Raptaur #18 12 months ago

Now if the trailer is any indication of the direction, tone and feel of the gameplay they are working on then I hopeful this is gonna turn our fantastic
  • varsas #19 12 months ago

This introduction is excellent and brings a different spin to the series regarding the setting; a good idea since it'd have to directly compete with UC if it kept the same set up.
  • Kano-11 #20 12 months ago

CGI= fail. Give us real gameplay!

Edit: Negged for speaking the truth? Fuck you guys. You know you want proper gameplay footage.

  • Doctor_What #21 12 months ago

Of course there's no gameplay yet - they've probably haven't even got one room up to the stage of finished art for the final game and I highly doubt the animations are polished to a stage where they want to show them off. Any gameplay footage at this stage would be just as much CG as the video you just saw (or so ugly looking that they would never release it publically). That's not to say that it's bad, that's just how games development works!

Visually beautiful trailer, and an interesting direction for the franchise. I hope they have left behind the increasingly stupid Atlantis stuff now.
  • Shikasama #22 12 months ago

In an industry of cheesy scripts and bad voice acting, that voice over still managed to be hyper-bad.
  • Dave #23 12 months ago

If this is a prequel, then the last scene of the game should be at the plastic surgeon: "Doctor...I want them bigger." It ties in better that way.

OT, trailer has a cool theme, hope it's continued in the actual gameplay.
  • beastmaster #24 12 months ago

Her voice in this is just a placeholder. They're going to announce the actress at a later date.
  • apoc_reg #25 12 months ago

She looks cool but im giving them nothing until i see gameplay...
  • weezereire #26 12 months ago

    NOT PENNY'S BOAT
  • MrE26 #27 12 months ago

I like the direction they're going in, i just hope they don't feel the need to fill the game with machine gun wielding bad guys again.

Lara vs. her environment always works so much better.
  • Peew971 #28 12 months ago

I still don't get why Microsoft didn't buy Eidos when they were going for peanuts. They're lacking 1st party IPs and Tomb Raider would go nicely up against Uncharted.
  • curtlikesmeat #29 12 months ago

Shame if that voice is a placeholder, I thought it was ok!
  • KopparbergDave #30 12 months ago

Just want a game that captures what the first game managed to. Even now the somewhat empty levels really give a sense of true isolation which is what Tomb Raider should be all about, that and discovering upon tombs and artefacts that have not been seen by a human being for centuries and millenia. Please god I hope this game tries to capture that feeling, and doesn't have 'action' scenes every 5 minutes for the sake of it and because modern gamesplayers need constant thrills and spills apparently. Guessing it will disappoint, but nice trailer anyways, still gives us hope!
  • javvyman #31 12 months ago

Couldn't have done it better myself. The series has been needing this direction for years.
  • Bennicus #32 12 months ago

Rumour alert: she will have a male sidekick who makes tedious wisecracks all the time, and you will be able to kick him in the face at the end of each level.
  • mcreddie #33 12 months ago

Brilliant! They've renamed it Tomb Raider even though it's a completely different game than the first one!

Damn there are some creative minds at work.

We did know Square Enix can make good videos, I mean look at those Deus Ex cinematic trailers.
Some gameplay video would be nice, but I guess its too soon. Maybe around this time next year.
  • shrinkwrapped #35 12 months ago

The twist is that she's washed up on Mêlée Island.
  • Monkey_Puncher #36 12 months ago

    Consider me not stunned!

Though this has been getting some really good buzz so I'm definitely intrigued to see what the game's like.
  • mikeck #37 12 months ago

All those asking for gameplay footage...the game is over a year away, can't you be a bit fucking patient? Sheesh.
  • fragglerocks #38 12 months ago

Oooh pretty. I've been meh about this game, but this trailer looks cool :)
  • God_Octo #39 12 months ago

That was a pretty good trailer- hopefully the game is just as good!
  • Scopeh #40 12 months ago

    Colour me Interested
  • Matthew_Hornet #41 12 months ago

Visuals are indeed stunning, but both the writing and acting on the voiceover are atrociously emo and overwrought. If this is the best they can manage hopefully she'll stay silent throughout the game.

It's especially jarring after the excellent work by Keeley Hawes in the previous Tomb Raiders.

edit: I understand now it's a placeholder voice, so fingers crossed. They might actually pull it off...

Now Ladys and Gentlemen, THAT is how you reboot a franchise.

    Stunning trailer.

Edit: Oh and the new Lara is so fucking sexy.

  • HyperTails #43 12 months ago

Is... can it be true? Is Lara really back?

This looks like it could tear Uncharted to shreds. Excite meter at 100%.
  • Orikk #44 12 months ago

Trailer looks amazing - best I've seen in a good while. And the voiceover works too. Let's hope that's the in-game voice as well.

I just pray the gameplay can live up to the trailer.
  • minimong #45 12 months ago

    @Kano-11
Grow up you pathetic little child.

    Trailer looks good.has me interested.
  • O11Y #46 12 months ago

Visuals and Lara model are both stunning. Voice acting was a bit ropey though....
