I'll try and stay optimistic about it, though the trailer did kind of putt me off

I'm looking forward to this, some of the features sound great. Control capital ships, command fleets using RTS-style input, real Newtonian physics...could be a good'un.

Newtonian isn't next gen.
Space combat sims need to go relativistic!

(remebering stuff like Gunbusters, that's not a bad possibility actually, it'd really challenge planning ahead)

Why do space shooters still get made? Nobody buys them!

They wouldn't get made if nobody bought them.

That'd be interesting, not sure how it'd work though.

Gunbusters portrayal of time dilation was excellent. Shame that series was spoilt by stupid robot battles and gratuitous nudity.

I can read the words, but put together like that they just don't make any sense.

Newtonian physics and realism my arse.

Why do all the ships have their engines running ALL THE TIME? In space, if you turn on your engines, then you'll be continuously accelerating.

I also wonder what these funny "bullets" and beam weapons in space are. Of course, they look cool, but in fact you wouldn't see beam weapons leaving any traces in space... (e.g. a laser beam is perfectly invisible in a vacuum)

Hence I find it funny when space sims brag about their realism.

Lim-Dul must hate all games because they are not exactly like real life.

You know why the laser beams are visible? Because it'd boring as fuck if you couldn't see them. And I doubt you'd be so keen on the idea of full realism when your ship gets blown to pieces without warning by an invisible weapon.

It's been ages since there's been a decent space sim. Shame about the name though... Star Shatter... these dev guys need to read Viz more. Not unless they already do and that names deliberate!
