Star Trek Online - The bridge

The hub of all starship activity, the bridge is where the important stuff happens. That and engineering, but engineering is far less glamorous and doesn't have the comfy chairs.

    Hmmm. The more I look at this, the more puzzled I become. The bridge looks like a glorified lobby where you and your friends simply stand about chatting. Then comes ship combat, where (unless I'm missing something) once your ship blows up you must surely be dead along with your friends. The away missions are instanced dungeons I take it so no complaints there. Still I'm struggling to see the long term appeal.

    I think that you are the captain and everyone else is NPCs actually. Each player has their own ship. Im not sure if you can visit other players ships, but wouldn't that be cool?

    I wonder if you always have to walk to the transporter to beam anywhere as well? :)

    I saw a few animations from Champions Online in there. I wonder what other games they have been used in?
