Why do people talk about this as though it's some sort of mind-boggling revelation? It's basically a modern version of Seventh Cross on Dreamcast, which was a critical and retail disaster. I'm not saying it won't be good, but the whole starting as a single-cell organism and evolving into the dominant life-form isn't a new game mechanic.
