    And by gameplay they actually mean no gameplay at all (except for 3 seconds).

    Spider-man 2 didn't win any graphical achievements awards either but it's like GTA where your playing in a wide expansive city.

    That or Activision is just shit.

    Spiderman 2 on XB was fantastic. I didn't "look" that great, but that really didn't matter. Anyone dismissing this on looks alone is risking depriving themselves of a great game (I'm not saying that it WILL be good, just that the previous one was despite its appearance).

    The swinging mechanic of the previous game was an absolute joy. Closest comparison that springs to mind is jumping about in Crackdown with your athletics stat on full, except SM2 was even better.

    The combat was pretty dire, but most of the time that didn't really matter.

    I agree with your point. "comprised of actual gameplay" is not the same as "comprised of in-game cutscenes" in my book. There was enough gameplay shown however to suggest it is very like Sm2 on XB, which is a good thing in my book (like that wasn't clear by now).

    I shall stop being such a fan now, its very out of character :)

    That was actually quite dissapointing. While I don't doubt the game will be a blast to play (much like Spider-Man 2 was), I was hoping for the graphics to really WOW me. As they are in this trailer, they looked average at best.

    The brief glimpses of the combat looked a bit worrying as well. I really hated the combat in Spider-Man 2 so I hope big improvements are made in this department.

    EG was talking about Venom, not just 'the black suit'. Venom is a huge, insane, psychotic, big sharp teeth and lolling tongue, spider-sense blocking, lunatic in a black suit. He is without a doubt, the best thing to happen to the Spidey comics in all their history. He is stronger than Spidey, can disguise himself as anyone, can block peter's spider-sense and knows who Spiderman is cos the suit used to be bonded to him. He also has no problem with killing absolutely anyone that gets between him and Spidey. Hence EG's 'Extremely cool' comment.

    EG never said it WAS Venom. All they said was Venom is cool. Which I agreed with. And corrected someone who misidentified him.
    No, Venom isn't in the trailer, but Venom is 'extremely cool'. Happy now?

    I hate to be a typically pessemistic EG member, but this game looks poor. Poor graphics and what seems like average fighting mechanics.

    Hopefully I'm wrong though.

    If Spider-Man 2 is anything to go on it should be pretty good.
    I thought Spider-Man 2 was a great game.
    The graphics didn't look amazing in that trailer but I'm not too arsed about the graphics to be honest :]

    Never been too convinced by Spidey-themed games. Anyway, Carnage rulez, Venom is for losers ;-)

    The crap graphics didn't stand out so much as the crap animation. Spidey looked like he was totally detached from the work around him.

    Looks like Spiderman 2 to me, with prettier textures, and more cars.

    Looks like they are including the sewer level that was cut from SM2 too, which will be a nice counterpoint to the free roam city above.

    I'll be getting this one for sure, if they keep the webslinging mechanics from SM2 and don't dumb it down like they did for that cell shaded monstrosity Ultimate Spiderman.

    Its not gonna win any grahical awards...

    But it looks okay to me.. And I liked spidey 2..

    so i'll keep my hopes up
