Awesome! Please let the majority of it be 3D along a 2D plane and not too much of that 'from behind' stuff!

What is their obsession with rail grinding?

Otherwise it looks lovely!

It's like Sonic Rivals with HD polish...

Sounds good to me!

Could it be that this is the time Sonic finally comes back??

Looks great. I fucking despise the rail grinding in all Sonic games that have had it though. Once again, I hope this time it'll be different.

I see a potential disaster. The camera just didn't seem right, and going from 2D to 3D like that looks confusing. Other than that, let's hope it turns out well. Though I'd prefer something like Klonoa 2.

Cautiously optimistic on this one; I know Sonic has let us down many (many, many) times in the recent past, but I'm getting a distinct Sonic Rush-esque vibe from the feel, presentation and even the music of this one, which in my book is a very good thing. Wonder what the Wii version will do...

I just get the feeling Sonic should have stopped being produced after the Megadrive.
Some series, no matter how popular shouldn't live forever.

well it looks cool but due to Sega's record with Sonic I'll wait for reviews and gamer feedback before even thinking of buying.

I hope the music doesn't stay. The Megadrive Sonic games had some of the greatest music in video games, and this just sounds like cack.

This looks like it might be worth playing. And the last one I played was on the Megadrive...

Completely disagree with Viper...loved the music. Suited the theme. I finally managed to grind my teeth (with much anger...) and complete Sonic '06 on the 360 - an Xmas '06 present from a nostalgic friend...

I love the music, which I now have the soundtrack too. For the most part, though, the game was crap. The speedy bits and Shadow were good though and, at times, I smiled when playing it; I don't usually do that!

I was also very impressed by the final, final boss. Very epic! But it's a complete rip off of Dragonball Z. =p

Not as bad as the critics say, but bad...

Considering how we got burned by the last Sonic trailer though, I'll hold my judgment on this one.

hmm looks like the devs have noticed the reviews for the wii sonic game... because this looks a bit like that in terms of "gameplay". Sonic and the blazing rings, it was called or something

The side-on view bits look fantastic... what true Sonic fans from the Megadrive days have surely been waiting for... a side-scrolling platform game with today's graphics. Oh how wonderful that would be!

I am hedging my bets though... Sega have a history of fucking these games up... and those chase cam views look like the tired old Sonic we've all come to loathe.

We shall have to wait and see what proportions of the game use those two different views.

From Sega's press release, "in addition to running at high speeds in classic Sonic style, combat fighting will become possible".
