    This is why Sonic fails (other than the horrendous gameplay). He is not some kick ass cool super hero. He's a blue hedgehog albeit a fast one. Nintendo have never changed Mario's personality much and don't care too much for story (apart from Mario & Luigi). In a game like this - gameplay first, story = last resort!

    That 2 seconds of Sonic running over that open field was the only thing that didn't worry me about this trailer. All 3D Sonic's should be like that. Not a bottomless pit in sight. that alone would help the gameplay so much...
