This might be ok. I find it funny how SEGA can't just call it SEGA All Star Racing, they just had to have the Sonic name in there

This has now become a day one purchase.

I am morally obliged to purchase any game with Shenmue characters in them.

If this plays like Mario kart or even better Crash team racing from the PSone, that will be great. Work on the GAMEPLAY SEGA

Well, it's doing the actual gameplay on a PS3 and a 360, for one thing.

Sega you tease. Hopefully this is a positive sign of things to come.

Finally Sega have acknowledged the existence of Shenmue!! Now maybe they can go about acknowledging it as the greatest game in their back catalogue, and in my opinion the greatest ever produced by any company, and produce Shenmue 3

I don't think it's intended as any sort of hint. The tennis game included guys like Gillius Thunderhead and Alex Kidd, they're just fun cameos, I don't see a new Alex Kidd game coming anytime soon.

And as someone else mentioned, this game is basically a mod of Outrun 2006 which was a very good game. It should be fun.

Shenmue 3 has become the holy grail of gaming. For Christs' sake (pardon the pun) someone get the damn thing made. It's a guaranteed seller.

Ugh. Stop it sega. Please - please - don't toy with me like this. I know you're not going to make shenmue 3. I know you're just preying on my dreams, dragging one of my favourite characters through the degrading mire of a souless two-bit mariokart knock-off in a mealy mouthed effort to wring a final few quid out of my cold, despairing husk. I know this. But goddamn do I wish it weren't so... Stop it sega. If you're not making a sequel just let Ryo die.

I've spent the last few years trying to get over shenmue, telling myself there is no chance of it ever returning and that sega corp have lost interest in the IP completely, then you go and do THIS? PLUS USE THE THEME MUSIC?

@ wintersnowblind, good point, but then again, sega didn't release a trailer specifically advertising "shenmue's ryo", that alone is acknowledgement at least of their being fan interest, why else would they do that?

And yes, you can see the hope in me is rising, I'm now willing to look into and believe anything for hope of shenmue 3.

Sumo Digital only ported the game to PC and consoles, and were not involved in the actual development. Still a good studio nevertheless.

Upon seeing Ryo in this, my heart skipped a beat, then seeing that you're behind this...well I'm dying as we speak..hahah..ha...

What's his special move going to be? Maybe he'll pull the bike into a skid and stop the other racers to ask them if they've seen any sailors around recently?

Sega must have a lot of fun in their warehouses with those forklifts.

Anyone know what the music is at the beginning? I know it but I don't and it's killing me...

The music at the begnning is from Shenmue, you hear it sometimes throughout the game during fights, but if you finish the game at play 70 Battle, it plays constantly throughout that scenario, really nice tune.
