I'm excited, somewhere, deep inside. but we've been bitten so many times by these so called "re-boots"...

Awful, awful, awful animation on the new 3D Sonic, the run and jump animation does not carry any momentum at all. The old 2D sprites flow so much better...

I wished Sonic 4 would rock and give Sonic his deserved rebirth, but Sega have given us a low-budget DLC episodic game. How lame.

PLEASE don't be crap. This is the last chance I'm going to give them to make something vaguely playable.

    @ Alkeno:

And you'd know this, even though you haven't played it yet, how? Comment fail!

Personally, I'm really looking forward to this one myself, especially after Sonic Rush (the first one at least, not played the reportedly worse second one), on DS.

    Alkeno is 100% right.

Chocnut detects cheap shite aimed at the old fanbase. Face it brothers, the new sonic will be as disappointing as the tardified apple maxipad. There is no more love for cutting edge.

We have entered the era of feminization. Cool is dead. The my little ponies dream of fluffy clouds is nigh. On the plus side it may mean men can stop dying of stress related problems and just sit back and watch the plans turn to mush.

Don't fight it. We need a break from running the world anyway.

This was my first impression too, but from the (very brief) in game footage it doesn't look like that's really a problem, it's just that footage of him running in front of the scrolling black and blue background that looks way off.

I like to think that with the audacity to call this game Sonic 4 comes a pretty deep level of understanding of what made those original games feel so great to play and where the new ones (Advance and Rush included, though I'm a big fan) fall short.

Perhaps assuming Sonic 4's going to awful is just a tad too pessimistic for me though. I'm not usually so fast a defend a game before it's released, but my friends and I (and almost certainly people all over the world) have been joking about a Sonic 4 since he went 3D, and if it turns out to be a shocker then, I don't know, Mario won, even to those of us in denial.

I could put together an emotional montage of all of the moments in my life when, playing the latest Sonic game, I realised that it didn't matter how much longer I held Right: his feet just weren't going to blur into a red wheel.

That video was such a moment.

This is my only pre-requisite for a Sonic game that I can give my whole heart to. Hopefully, we haven't seen him running at full pelt yet... :'(
