SKATE - Meat

Published 31 August, 2007 Duration 1:15

Nailing a particularly, well, tricky trick is immensely satisfying. Cocking it up tends to be terrifically painful. Capturing that sense of spine jarring disaster when it all goes wrong is something EA have not ignored with SKATE...

Fantastic animations that is let down by the 'floaty' ragdoll physics that is similar to those in Amped 3, Gears of War and Tony Hawk's Project 8.

Still, it looks set to be the best skate game since THPS2/3.

If there was a skating game based purely on injuring skaters (porrasturvat with skateboards) I'd buy that.

Ok, definitely getting this now. Not to play it properly or anything...just to break people against walls.

I can't see the trailer due to the FUCKING AD of stuntman ignition. It just kills my CPU.

    Can't wait for this.

The demo was awesome and I really cannot wait for this game BUT...

Skaters simply do not fall like that. Especially doing the more 'simple' flat land stuff...if they land it wrong, they jump off the board and go into a jog (providing they're going fast enough)

I know it'd be rather bloody hard to have a different animation for every situation you crash in but atleast some sort of stand-up animation would be better. As it is, you simply lay flat on your face, seemingly unconscious until you press the A button :S
