    Looking at this video, the game looks like a poor man's cross of Stalker and Bioshock.

    bah, double post.

    Reminds me of F.E.A.R. but a little more clunky

    looks pretty interesting, with an attention to detail like Bioshock. Bioshock meets HL2. Those monsters take an awful lot of ammo to down, though - maybe its just that pistol is weak.

    Looks good to me, I think I'll be picking this up today.

    Tom's apparent inability to hit a barn from inside the barn might be a factor too. ;)

    Er, all it does is show an advert and then the video doesn't play.

    I'm assuming therefore its not worth me going out and buying it.

    Happened to me too, I just selected HD then went back to Normal and it worked.

    Yeah, I can certainly see the logic there: Eurogamers "first 15 minutes" video didn't load therefore the game isn't worth buying. :p

    It's it the video juddering or is the frame rate periodically dipping in the game?
  • Ares42 #10 2 years ago

    This game looks pretty redundant. There's nothing bad about copying what others have done successfully, but they need to bring in something original to make it work. This just looks like a mish-mash of already well established ideas and cliches.

    I dont know, i think it looks pretty interesting... i think i will give this a spin next week :)

    Some of the letters are backwards? You'd think someone would have noticed in playtesting. Just seems sloppy to me.
  • youreviltwin #13 2 years ago

    @Ares42:

    Well the ability to trap enemies in a bubble of frozen time, or age them into skeletons, or repair stairs or crates or machines by de-aging them is pretty new. And other than the TimeSplitters games there aren't that many shooters that use time travel as a core feature. I don't know of any games other than Singularity and the RPG classic Chrono Trigger where you can explore the same area in both the the present and 50 years in the past.

    For the first hour and half the game is a generic (but extremely well polished) horror shooter game, a cross between FEAR and Bioshock and Half-Life. And then you get the time powers and it stands out as its own game. What is impressive is that they were confident enough in the quality of the shooter and horror aspects that they didn't contrive a reason to give you time powers within the first half hour.

    @youreviltwin
    Well, I stand corrected then :p I was just going by what was shown in the video, which didn't seem very impressive.

    Devlin sounds a lot like Nolan North to me. Looks good.
  • Turbotim3 #16 2 years ago

    JahB you definately drank the kool aid. Go back to your MW2 Metacritic stupidland

    @Deckard1
    You're just being funny right? you know It's done deliberately because of the Russian theme to the game?
  • MMMMMM7 #18 2 years ago

    From a PC point of view the graphics are very poor. I don't know which version
    of the Unreal engine they are using but the graphics are very aged and resemble
    a lot of Bioshock. What a pitty since they reduce value from the gameplay
    experience.
  • Deckard1 #19 2 years ago

    @goondocks74

    Your joking? boy do I feel silly.
  • Pehmu #20 2 years ago

    The thing I don't like about modern shooters is this unnecessary handholding. I don't need a big button icon and !RELOAD! text to tell me I need to reload my gun.
  • Sone #21 2 years ago

    F3AR gonna be 3 times better, this is waste of time....
  • Pehmu #22 2 years ago

    "F3AR gonna be 3 times better, this is waste of time.... "

    I wouldn't hold my breath for that. Singularity looks average but Fear 3 actually looks quite bad. Which would be a shame since Fear 2 was already a big letdown.
  • BBIAJ #23 2 years ago

    @VandelayIndustries:

    Devlin is indeed Nolan North.

    Both he and Steve Blum (intro narrator), must be two of the hardest working men in videogame voice over work!
  • nbanic #24 2 years ago

    @Deckard1

    It's not sloppy. The letters are like that on purpose, because some Russian letters really do look backwards :)

    This looks damn awesome from what I watched, I stopped the video at about halfway as I want to enjoy the intro myself.

    It may be nothing new, but I've always enjoyed fun over innovation, and this looks like just the ticket.
