I hope you get to see the deaths. If you do it will be the best game a losing at least once.

Yes, you do get to see deaths. But the game loans heavily from the films, and you will rarely encounter unique Jigsaw traps. Those that are original do not feel like something Jigsaw would make, though. This game doesn't even feel like a Saw game.

And it's a nightmare on the PC. You interact with the world using buttons from 1 to 4, and you solve most puzzles using nothing but your mouse. In some puzzles, the motions you input may conflict and seriously screw up your progress of solving the puzzle. This game is the very definition of mediocrity - has its moments, but fails to hold your interest.

What's the actual gameplay elements? Is it all just puzzle solving?

It is focused heavily on puzzle solving. Some puzzles repeat themselves, some are unique, some are timed, some are understandably recurring (picking locks, weapon cabinets). 'Bosses' are victims, and consist of one tough puzzle. The first one is, at least. I didn't make it to the second 'boss'. Couldn't stand the controls.

There are other elements, as fragmented and superficial as they are. You get to fight other victims, you can bolt doors shut and barricade them, you can create tripwire traps and stumble upon yourself. There are plenty of QTEs, although they're done rather well, surprisingly.

If you want to give it a shot, wait for a price drop, then get it for the 360.

Edit: Huh, spoiler tags don't work.

I won't be picking it up. I hated the movies and the game doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
