Looking forward to using those paddles as well as the Monster Truck. The chainsaw too. :)
And all the guns, pretty much everything they showed in the video. :D

obviously not going to be as good as GTAIV (like every other game out there that isn't GTAIV or dungeon keeper 1), but looks like its going to be fun and I will probably get both :D

probably not good timing to show videos for it now, but it was never going to avoid GTA based hatred

Loved Saints Row it kicked all sorts of GTA arse, maybe this one will not? Whatever I will be buying.

ULTOR corporation!? Those bastards again! I remember them from the first Red Faction game, it'll be interesting to see how Volition integrate them into a different game brand, now that Red Faction: Guerilla's new bad guys are the EDF.
Oh, and I don't get all the bashing about this game, the first was good mindless fun, I don't see why GTA should have exclusive rights over the open sandbox 'fictional city' based games.

GTA or not, that looks utter shite.

    looks like a PS2 game

The trailer seems very GTA-esque. Not very original. However, I've never played the first one so I can't say how good/bad it is, but I'm not particularly looking forward to this. And, not to jump on the bandwagon, but it has to be said that the graphics are shockingly bad.

    @burns

    That's because it is a PS2 game.
  • christourlord #16 4 years ago

Oh Christ that looks horrible in every possible way.
  • stoopidgreg #17 4 years ago

it just seems kind of lacking in character or emotion or something...
  • themorganator #18 4 years ago

    shock paddles! ha ha ha!
  • T4RG4 #19 4 years ago

    PS2 version? More like NES.

Absolutely shit graphics and style :/

Seriously though, is there anything about this game which is not lifted directly from GTA? I mean, apart from the game being an almost carbon copy, the humour and marketing seems almost identical.

Why does that video remind me of Crackdown?
  • bigbadbeasty #22 4 years ago

    Just a quick note:

Graphics do not make a game.

  • muscleblade #23 4 years ago

Graphics is one thing. Funfactor another.

    TRIGGERHAPPYTEL.

Although not as good as GTA was saints row introduced a lot of elements that GTA4 is using .
The mobile phone , the ability to get drunk, the flying through windscreens after a hard impact etc.
The first saints row although not a classic was still very good fun.
Imo it made rockstar think of improvements to their own franchise, and the more types of these sandbox/openworld games the more innovation/improvements we will see to the format.
Even if it is basically the same as the first (saintsrow) with the addition of new area's , new vehicles I will still buy it because of one reason.
Full story co-op, this is a real bonus to me I, after years of adverseral gaming i have really enjoyed playing co-op online, which is becoming a real selling point in games these days.
Just look at how fable2 has introduced this and mercenaries2 was delayed to add a co-op mode.
    CO-OP its the future.
Maybe GTA5 will copy this idea

To people saying "graphics do not make a game". That's completley true, and I agree. But, from the trailer, it seems as if the original Saints Row has better graphics than this one. Graphics not being great is forgivable, but not improving/regressing is not. Then again, I'm only going by this trailer, so we shall see.

For those of you who believe that the graphics quality is an equivalent to the PS2:

This new release (Saints Row 2) is extremely likely to have poor graphics. Normally when games have several months to arrive in stores, the gaming companies will express early game trailers for the public so they can observe a rough idea of game basics. Common sense would tell you that these game graphics are not of the high expected quality standards that you would expect when the game has been released. Expect the unexpected, those of you who are against the graphics, for I believe the full potential of this game has yet to arrive - just wait.
