    I'd have prefered a pro bass mode that understands when you pop and slap. also, there are fewer strings so it will be a little easier to pick up, but dificult to master :).

    I play guitar and bass but struggled to get used to a selection of numbers flying at me on screen when i played this at the expo, so I did pretty awful lol.

    Yeah, it doesn't look like an interface that can be sight read if you don't know the tune, more of a guide when you have learned the tune to remind you of the changes. Some of the fast solo sections seemed to overlap so they weren't readable, but then I guess it would only be a prodigal few that could sight read a solo like that however it was notated.

    Yeah, my major issue is the way they've tabbed the music - particularly chords - you have to read this weird wave shape, interpret it incredibly quickly, get your fingers into position and then play the right strings. Very, very tough. Still interested in the proper stringed Strat guitar... thought the Pro Button guitar was rubbish though!

    Cheers MrMarc. Either way it's not easy to read at speed - it's going to be tough to learn. I imagine you'll probably have to start in practice mode before you can even attempt most pro mode songs!

    That'll definitely take some getting used to.

    It's a very cool time to be a young player interested in learning guitar. Too bad I'm an old fart who's already done it the old-fashioned way. :)

    That said, I wonder if the Fender guitar outputs real MIDI in order to ultimately drive the game console? If I could use it as a MIDI guitar to drive my own synths in the studio, I'd buy one in an instant.

    @darc - both guitars have MIDI-out: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/v...

    However, you need a separate MIDI connector box (MadCatz do one) to connect them to your 360.

    I hope they actually release the Squier Strat. I imagine things may be in the balance after Harmonix were dropped by their publisher.
