Resistance 2 - Teaser

The Chimera, the many-eyed, toothsome beasties of Fall of Man, have temporarily been driven back from the shores of good old Mother Britain, deciding instead to opt for the decidedly juicier target of North America. Can Nathan 'Hearty' Hale be the dam which stems the flood once more?

    Ooooh! That looks nice - I'm such a sucker for alien invasions, especially ones set in 'the past', even if it is an alternate one.

    Looks jaggy enough to look like gameplay to me.

    Also, if that *isn't* gameplay, it is the worst teaser trailer ever.

    Can't wait - Resistance 1 was criminally under appreciated IMHO. Insomniac rule almost as much as Free Radical in terms of understanding what makes for smooth and enjoyable gameplay.

    I quite enjoyed RFOM (especially the 1950s Britain setting), so I'll more than likely be up for this. And Gears2 ;-)

    Can't wait loved the first game, though only 19 hours to live? So does that mean they are doing the sensible thing of ending the story on the second outing kudos if they, imo is better to have a new IP with "from the creatores of..." instead of tired 3rd or 4th titles in a series.

    OK, but it did feel pretty familiar to me; I got a lot of echoes of the Halo 3 teaser, for one, and I don't consider that a good thing for a series that is already suffers from a troubling lack of personality. The first game was pretty fun, sure, but it was just too nondescript to have me clamoring for a sequel that was anything other than a huge improvement...

    If that's ingame, it's actually not too shabby looking IMO.
    I'll probably have a PS3 by then too, so this will no doubt end up being a 'must have'.

    This isn't in-game people. This is simply a teaser (a pretty cliché one at that).

    First in-game footage in June.

    It's not gameplay, that's for sure, but it may well be in engine, and not pre-rendered.

    Loved the first game, fine console FPS with nice weapons. No Half-Life 2 but its mechanics suit a controller better.

    Its kinda stupid, but what I liked about the first one was that it was set in England, stupid because it was so over-run with alien tech that it wasn't really England, but I digress. Hopefully they'll add some decent vehicle maps for the multiplayer in this one, I liked the vehicle sections in the story mode. I don't know that that was so clichéd, as long as he doesn't come back at the end. overall I'd say this looks to be a pretty decent game (based on the base IP and what i've read and seen so far, but only time can tell, I'll guess it scores an 8/10 upon review.

    This, Killzone 2 and Aliens Colonial Marines...I can't believe I'll be overdosing on console fps games in late 2008. Cool!

    The first game looked rushed and poor or in comparison with Gears.
    Insomniac has a point to prove, I suspect this game will be very good.

    Insomniac are pretty much the most consistent year-on-year developer out there. I'm sure this game will be very good, and if I have a PS3 by then I'm sure I'll purchase it.

    Nearly everything about that trailer screamed Halo 3 rip, even down to the large alien ships and the little fighters. Heck swap the voice over for cortana and you'd be wondering if this was an extra halo chapter!

    I enjoyed Resistance one (not enough Nathan story though) so hopefully the trailer is just a case of bad directors trying to make a dramatic film and not a damning forewarning of the game to come.

    ok here is the low down. This teaser is in game in the fact that it is using the same engine as the gameplay just like gears and the first resistance fom, but when playing it wont obviously look that fancy like all games. anyway who gives a flying peice of dog shite if this vid is a halo rip, halo has had its time, and imho i really dont see why halo is as popular as it is, i mean i love it but i dont know why its just all the same all the way through shoot aliens drive vehicle take down wraith etc, resistance was exactly the same in a way but the weapons were soo damn original so im buying it on launch because the first one never got enough praise, and it shoulda done.
