Reisdent Evil 4 - Wii

Published 16 April, 2007 Duration 5:33

The first of two Resident Evil titles in production for Wii, this is a remake of the last-gen classic. Widely regarded as one of the best titles the GameCube ever produced, as well enjoying success on other formats, Resi 4 should be a no-brainer hit.

Not entirely sure that I need to buy this, having the GC version, but I probably will anyway.

Those 'sprint' bits look a bit tedious. Was there anything like that in the original game?

that sprint thing only happens something like 4 or 5 times throughout the whole game ... it was just mashing the A button on the GC. I guess this trailer's just trying to show off all Wiimote stuff.

Ahh, the revolution of the Wii. This game could never have been done on any other console...

    Butchery.

R.I.P. laser sight, R.I.P. moving your aim to the edge of the screen and expecting to continue turning (believe me, being surrounded in this version is going to make the game near-unplayable at times- don't expect to match your 92% accuracy statistic from the 'Cube version.) The lack of a sensible control scheme will result, I think, in players sniping/middle-distance shooting their way through, removing the frantic immediacy, thus removing most of the fun.

The limitations of the sensor bar continue to reveal themselves in more and more ways, and it's sad that this once majestic title will have to suffer for it.

I heard a rumour the Wii version of the game comes free with a bucket to collect the wee that involuntarily escapes your body when you accidentally stumble into another chainsaw wielding lunatic and end up losing your head. Something about a play on words and a marketing gimmick. I heard this from a tramp camped outside a Gamestation store, so I suspect the rumour is in fact true.
