I pity the publishers who have to commission these videos, though. Demonstrating the Wii's best feature is going to mean a lot of unemployed actors will be asked to 'look like you enjoy playing games, luvvie' in the next couple of years.

They really know what they are doing in the handheld space (I have a DS and it's wonderful - apart from the recently cracked hinge) but the Wiimote and strong first-party games is all they have. I just feel it will end up as another poorly supported home console from Nintendo no matter how good the technology is (I have to ignore the EA support as I don't buy their games).

Sadly this video gets worse with each viewing. 70% of the video is of the people playing .I strongly suspect they are not even playing, as they appear to be happy. This looks like a game to be played when you are blind drunk, the drunker the better.
My fears that the Wiimote is a gimmick in place of an existing and highly successful control method (PC fans will argue that mouse/keyboard is best but dual analogue is a worthy second) are looking true. Ignore the Wiimote and plug in 4 dual analogue pads and all you have is a very poor fps with last gen everything. I hope I am wrong.

Yip, it still looks shit

Surely THE main reason to own a nintendo console IS to play these strong first party games?
Worth the asking price alone normally imho. The other two will both get the same games as each other, and they'd both love to have as strong 1st party selection!

-It's gonna take some abuse. Better tape some styrofoam to the corners of your coffee table too.
But I'm clearly missing the point. It's looking better all the time.
(sitting here with my Nintendo beer hat on, Nintendo t-shirt, Mario bed-sheets, 1up mushroom underpants)
Heh.

....
You mean the usual Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Star Fox and Pokemon culprits...
I hate to be cynical of Nintendo of all companies but the only thing strong about Nintendo's First Party is their brand recognition that's been imbedded into gamers for the past 20+ years.
Of course the odd new one pops up like Animal Crossing and Nintendogs, but compared to say Sony's array of new good IP's throught the PS2, I don't think Nintendo has an obviously better bunch of First Party titles.
The N64 raped the PS1 in that category though.
That video looked so fake, and the couch looks like it's a cramped place to be for a 4 player wii session (not to mention how much that will actually cost in the end), how the hell is this meant to sell me on the wii?
Red steel is a shit FPS... but because of the wiimote it's Fun to play.

Also, why werent they knocking the controllers out of each others hands? Thats the only way to play multiplayer!

I hate the friends + console = fun... no shit, I don't need to be told that. I don't need to be told to have fun when I'm dictated to or demonstrated to as to how you should experience the console my reaction is to stick the finger at Nintendo and walk away.
Anyway, most birds would get bored and want to go out, watch telly anything than stare at the corner of a screen with crap graphics.
And all those blokes needed a good kicking or better still judicious use of the katana that was behind them all on the sideboard.
Gah I hate forced fun bollocks.

New marketting slogan "It's all fun and games... until someone loses an eye!"
Comment below viewing threshold Show
All of these 'show how much "fun" people are having while gaming' -videos aren't working, at least for me, and I'd want no know how long it takes for the marketing division to realise it.
