Having run through it yesterday at pace, Tom returns to the Red Faction demo (due out soon) to blow things up with remote charges. Then gets killed, obviously.

I lol'd when the window sill fell off when Tom jumped through it. I don't mind the destruction model, but it just seems like everything is made out of plastic, it blows up so easily.

yeah the limits of destruction in the editor need to be tweaked still, apart from this it looks really nice if a little redish.

Looking forward to the demo so I can try it out for myself.

It's a game that, like Fracture, seems to rely entirely on one gimmick, here it's the destruction. It looks kind of fun but bland, woefully unoriginal and lacking in ideas otherwise.

The physics look OK but everything appears to be made of balsa wood or something. The Mars setting also appears to be totally wasted too as other than the abundance of red it may as well be on Earth as the main character runs around with no helmet on!

It just doesn't look very good.
The vaunted Geomod stuff just looks completely ropey.

Played the latest PS3 build recently. Basically it's Mercenaries on Mars - the AI is pretty good (unlike Mercs) though the slightly cel shaded look does make all the buildings seem flimsy - if the bad guys want to win they should hire proper structural engineers ;-) It's also repetitive though blowing stuff up and smacking bad guys down with a slegehammer is fun as a stress reliever.

I want some huge buildings about 20 floors high that you can demolish.
