Rain - Trailer

Published 8 February, 2007 Duration 3:00

Bloody vampires, quite literally usually, always causing bother. Why they can't find a nice place to settle down is beyond us. Rain, or Vampire Rain, has them infesting L.A. and slaughtering its citizens. Actually, they're not so bad.

Quite a nice trailer, aside from the girl at the start's hobbly walk.

But please... tell me this ain't yet another FPS. It was all looking fairly interesting until the guns and bullets appeared.

    Ah. It's a third-person shooter. Ho hum.

Looks kind of Biohazard territory, nice!

Wasn't there a teaser for this a long while ago, black and white mainly showing a street where it was raining? Or am I confusing it with something else?

The ending was very cool :)

I liked the trailer and I think the gameplay has some potential, but it would be better to have something more... "tangible" to reach some kind of verdict.

By the way, it reminded me of Harker. How is that game doing?
  • Der_tolle_Emil #12 5 years ago

Harker is doing fine. One of the recent 1up shows had an interview with the team and it's coming along nicely.

:) Being followed by a vampire?

Head for the nearest isolated, cramped, shaddowy alley-way and stand still in said isolated, cramped, shaddowy alley-way.

    Some women these days.....

The trailer's great. You want to sell a game, make a trailer like that. A quick look ELSEWHERE (why?) for in-game footage reveals an odd...Well, you appear to play as a special forces guy, and you're in radio contact with HQ, and other characters in the environment. But it seems as though it looks and plays like a PS2 title. Perhaps even a certain PS2 franchise. But less stealthy, more shooty. Plus, there are vampires.

It has a chance, if it's released on the same line as OneChambara (sp, for sure) Vortex, but it doesn't look to be doing much new, just going for shocks/horror at times. I'll probably give this one a wide berth.

The gameplay footage makes it look like Resident Splinter Solid, it's not even remotly trying to hide where it got all it's ideas from.

That whole Sam Fisher with Vampires thing seems pretty rad!

Who the heck are the creators of this game? Seem "slightly" RE inspired. Which isn't necessarily a bad thingie :)
  • Royal Fool #18 5 years ago

The developer's Artoon, the ones behind the award-winning mega blockbuster Blinx. Yeah, the time-travelling cat.

You can sort of see the resemblance if you examine the teeth of the vampires and Blinx closely. :)

So its resident evil vampire edition then ?
  • asphaltcowboy #20 5 years ago

That's right, it's dark and scary, so just run into that even darker alley in case you're being followed! Twatface! Apologies, I'm just infuriated by that dodgy walk animation at the start, even if I wasn't an animator I'd be able to see that her arms and legs on each side are moving together and not opposite... the way REAL HUMANS WALK.

That said, the trailer is good - unfortunately videos of gameplay make it look SHIT.
