Amazing how it will still run at 60fps on consoles, shows MW3 recent boasts, what with its linear environments and re spawning "a.i." for what it truly is.

Looks gooood.

Softie... Carmack is pretty amazing though.

Id, Epic and Valve. Old school FPS makers. They should get together and make babies.

"It looks like Borderlands!"
• brseg #6 11 months ago

It does look like Borderlands (even the music seems familiar), but if gearbox cant get off their as*es and do a sequel, then fine :) I just hope the game matches the tech. I mean, Borderlands is technically nothing special, but the ideas + game are totally awesome.

btw, at 2:50, it shows a distributed build using IncrediBuild add-on in Visual Studio.

Sigh . . I am a huge ID fanboy, and have completed every single one of their games. But every time I see one of these videos they always focus on the tech, not on the gameplay. . So Mr Design Director, how about telling us about the new gameplay experiences you are going to be offering, instead of saying the tech is going to allow you to do stuff other people have done already but better. .

What beatwolf says.

Masters of Doom is a great read.

I too would thoroughly recommend Masters of Doom to any gamer. It's very cheap to buy. Amazing story and history.

REALLY looking forwards to RAGE.

They talk a lot of sense in this video and I know id have done a lot of amazing things for the FPS genre over the past 20 years, but I can't say Rage is looking all that special really. It looks pretty and I'm impressed by the 60fps standard, but the design isn't doing it for me and it kind of looks like a mishmash between Borderlands and Fallout 3.

I think it looks great. However, not much love shown by critics etc post E3 do I suspect it could be utter shite. The critics are the first ones up ids arse given the opportunity. I hope the world is more interactive like say halo or half life as oppose to a static painting of environmental objects like resident evil. I am cautiously optimistic. If I could have a borderlands that played at a solid 60frames I would be happy:)

I am one of the biggest fans of id Software products. In my opinion, they are some of the very few companies that treat their clients with the utmost respect. Their products are top quality and have affordable prices. I know they are focus on games, but I hope in the near future I will be able to do a free anti virus download from their website as I'm sure it would be one of the best on the internet. And as far as Rage is concerned, is one of the best FPS I have played in the last couple of years!
