This looks a lot like an action packed Ico.

What is this a fucking disney game?
  • Pac-man-ate-my-wife #3 4 years ago

Looks aces! Loved Sands of Time - one of my favourite games ever - but not really enjoyed the others as much.

Hope this is a return to form.

the game looks majestic to say the least and as for spanky, what exactly do you want to the game to look like? it definitely aint no disney looking game to me just a beautifully rendered world.
  • the_dudefather #5 4 years ago

looking good, except for that music of course
  • HolyJebus #6 4 years ago

Thought that was a very nice trailer.

    Animation looks excellent.
  • dfunked #7 4 years ago

My god that music is dire! Wish they could've stuck with Sćglópur from the last trailer.
    Looks absolutely amazing though

Well, that proves that it looks nice in slow-motion...

The music wasn't _that_ awful! It beats the crap generic nu-rock guitars any day.

I'm still worried about the voice talent. I really hope the Prince doesn't have an American accent; that's just wrong! They could always take a chance and give him (bear with me while I shock the world) a middle eastern accent, you know, like the actual Persians? I think asking the whole thing to be in Arabic might be going a bit far, but at least a few proper regional accents would be nice.
  • Triggerhappytel #9 4 years ago

@Dr What - yeah, we've talked about Princey's lame accent before; I believe EG ran a news story where someone at Ubi said it was American only for 'familiarity', or some such bollocks.

Also, perhaps more worrying than the accents so far is the godawful script.

Anyway, it looks potentially pretty good, although a shameless rip-off of other games from the last few years. I'm still a bit sceptical though, as I've felt each new PoP game has been significantly inferior to the previous one.

Isn't the music Sia? She's amazing!!

Edit: Oooh and love the art style of this game.

Now when I frist saw the new PoP I thought it looked bad. But that looks creative, beautiful and fun. And Ico comparisons? oh PLEASE shut up. That second character really helps and iteracts with you, much much more than dragging round that irritating useless wet bint Yorda.

    freeeaaakin' awesome.

    Damn this dsylexia!

The song isn't great, but it's pretty good, even if completely out of place in this trailer. Ubi should have published an action-packed trailer with ear-splitting heavy metal - then there would be no complaints at all.
  • Starkadder #15 4 years ago

The track is Breathe Me by Sia - great artist, good song...just probably not appropriate here. It was used to great effect on the last episode of Six Feet Under. I expect that was the vibe Ubisoft were going for - unfortunately they overestimated their target audience, judging from the cultural philistinism expressed above.

"someone at Ubi said it was American only for 'familiarity', or some such bollocks."

Yeah, I often get familiarity confused with xenophobia appeasing too.
  • kangarootoo #17 4 years ago

The music wasn't that bad ffs. Not one for my iPod, but it worked at times as we saw some pretty vistas in slowmotion.

Though it did kind of feel like they had seen that AC trailer with Richard Ashcroft singing (which everyone whined about at the time too) in it and wanted some of the same moody action.

"judging from the cultural philistinism expressed above."
Sharrap ponce. I'd have much preferred some... you know fucking good persian music, couple monkeys in fezzs dancing in the corner, and some snake charming. Fuckin cultural philistinism indeed.
  • autogunner #19 4 years ago

relax fools, the music is Breathe me (in) by Sia, a person so cool she writes music with other cool people that you have never heard of. also it wont be in the game
  • skyman #20 4 years ago

Love the music. It fits perfectly with this trailer xD
  • makeamazing #21 4 years ago

Loved the music. Very atmospheric and kind of mangaish just like the art style. GOTY candidate imo.
  • Load_2.0 #25 4 years ago

Looking good! A definite improvement on recent incarnations. Bit more of an SOT feel to it.

Looks like the most artistically beautiful videogame since Okami, hope it returns to the quality of Sands Of Time.

i really dont think the cell shading works at all. i would much prefer it 'realistic'
