I'm sure the hedge is just to take care of the widescreen aspect ratio so you don't see more than you see if you are playing in 4:3 since being able to see the zombies earlier obviously creates an advantage.

Played the demo and I sure hope the last 15 minutes are more exiting than the first otherwise it's a no-buy with a price tag of 15 bucks.

I played through the demo of this and also have played the PC version for a while on a friend's PC. Yes, it's a very fun and well-made game, and yes, the conversion to 360 has been satisfactory, but 1200 points? Were it 800 I would have bought it without a second thought. As it is, I'm just annoyed that they've priced it at 1200, and feel like I want to wait until it's 800 just out of principle. I'm really not one to complain about prices generally but this one bugs me.

Regarding the hedge: I'm pretty sure it's less to do with preventing those playing in widescreen from getting an advantage; and a lot more to do with keeping the play area the same as earlier versions, saving PopCap from having to rework the (perfected) game mechanics.
