The only good thing about Ninja Gaiden 2 was the old man, who turned out to be the best fighter that ever lived. Why the heck couldn't they have given Ryu moves like him?

Playing through NG2 was a lesson in masochism. There was precious little skill involved and a lot of spamming the flying swallow moves just to survive. I would have loved to see a series of quick decapitation battles where your sword actually felt like it was sharp and not like a bloomin' butter knife!

that purple smoke looks ridiculous. Don't remember the giant Evil Tufty character from the 360 one. Glad to see the Flaming Arrows of Frustration have been kept in though
*sigh*

Completely disagree with that. Ninja Gaiden II is one of the few games out there that requires actual gaming skill to achieve success. Of course I accept that 100% achievement is not gained through skill, purely because NGII has some poor and cheap design (such as the flaming arrows as someone mentioned); the original game and Black suffered from no such problems however.

I mean, it definitely is more of a cheap game than a skill-based one, but compared to the competition it offers the most intense and challenging content available for those of us out there whom are sick and tired of being hand-held and patronised by developers.

Anyway, as for this trailer, I find the reduced gore a bit... disappointing. I'm no gore-hound, but NG2 did look sickeningly brutal, and without it the game seems a bit bare!
